So I was looking through the "Dragon Ball in Japan feature" that was made when the Dragon Boxes were first announced in Japan, and couldn't help but notice this statement at the end of Mike's info:

All episodes will have digitally remastered picture quality (which will most likely rival that of FUNimation; may or may not exceed such). The audio will remain Dolby Digital 2-channel mono, but it assumed to be touched up from the original masters.

I think we all know how that turned out
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Can you even really tell the difference outside of the Funi one being slightly zoomed in?
Stop using these picture to cmpare GT's releases.

I saw the first episode, and the scene here moves quickly that you have short time to pause and take an accurate snap shot

use somthing like this one... a scene that nothing moves in it for a good amount of time

Yeah but isn't that the "remastered" set? He was comparing FUNi single to Dragon BOx.

I take it that DBZ was the only one of the series to look really bad on Funi's old single releases or what? Especially the older episodes were really dark and the grain was obvious. Someone of our tech gurus wanna fill me in? :)

Edit: I now noticed how wrong I said it before

The Buu saga singles were pretty decent, but that's it.

Heh, I'd say even the most hardended dub hater would rather have an orange brick over a black brick.

Not to linger on this topic but, jjgp1112 and the other people who like the Falconer music... I really hope it's not on this set. You have like a million sets with his crappy music do you really need one more? Just pick one from all the other FUNimation releases.

And when Kaboom asked "Will it have bruce faulconer track please say yes!" and FUNimation said "Yes it does. English dub is included". Dosen't mean it will have Faulconers music.

More like 9... For the dub at least, which is the only way I can watch it, and it is what I primarily watch, so if these sets don't have it, then I can say I won't buy anything past Volume 2.

Those pictures from the black brick do look like crap. It has such a depressed, tired, melancholic feel whenever it's that dark. It's like every episode is as gloomy as the more rainy 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai episodes or something.

The Orange Bricks look fine to me, though, and I doubt that I'll care about whatever negligent change the Dragon Boxes might go through.

But this is the DragonBox this is pretty much for the fans who fell in love with the Japanese version. I'm not saying "hardcore fans" I'm saying if you really like the Japanese version better, then this is pretty much for you.

Well the American Music has nothing to do with pure Dragon Ball which is what the Dragon Box is all about, Falconer's score is just a ghost of the old Dragon Ball English version and hopefully it'll be excluded from the future releases.

I'm still hoping for English versions of all the Japanese songs too, that'd kick ass.

I'm not suggesting they get rid of the Japanese version - I'm using you guys' logic - do YOU really need these too? There are a bunch of other FUNI releases with the Japanese audio. What makes this so special for you and not for us?

Yes that would be awesome, I wonder if they did though who would sing them, Vic Mignona possibly?
