Stephanie Nadolny's being replaced as Gohan? Fuckin' A, she was great as Gohan after Season 3.

I can understand why they recasted Gohan. That was a good choice. Still don't understand why they recasted Bulma but not Freeza.

The main reason they're probably recasting the characters is because they're original actors probably weren't available. It has nothing to do with quality. I don't see why Funi would base their recasting on the opinions of a minority audience.

Actually, aside from Hebert, none of the replaced actors do voice over work anymore. It's probably easier to work with actors who work for the company then people who have other jobs now. Hebert on the other hand works for Viz now. Interesting that they'd recast him as the narrator but keep him as Gyu-Mao/Ox King. (I'm assuming, since a replacement wasn't announced) I'm also guessing since they didn't announce anything that Schemmel is still Goku.

They probably added a new narrator just to make it new and exciting. They had a different narrator for DB, DBZ, and GT.

I like the sound of the recasting. I'm not too familiar with some of them. But Colleen Clinkenbeard as Gohan sounds awesome. She does a great job as Luffy, and now I'm really looking forward to hearing her in this role. It's sure to be much better than Stephanie Nadolny's rendition in any case, though I had started warming up to her newer attempts in the games and such.

On the downside... no new Freeza, eh? That sucks. But, I was prepared for such, and I can deal with it. So long as the directing is better and the script isn't vomit-inducing like the original Z dub, I can put up with Linda Young's Freeza. I don't like it, but I guess I'm used to it.

From what FUNi said, everyone's keeping their original roles except those already mentioned. So, we'll be getting Linda Young as Freeza.

As I have no real attachments to the people that aren't coming back, I can say that I like the sounds of the voices of the people coming onto the show.

I really hope that Kaio has a different voice or at least a different portrayal. But I'm exited either way.

I thought it was "The majority of the cast for Kai will be the same." There might still be an opportunity for a few more changes. But I know it's doubtful... I was really hoping for a new Frieza... But who knows? Maybe with an accurate script she might be able to pull off a decent Frieza...

I've never heard anyone ever having a problem with Gohan's voice in the FUNimation voice. I've heard people hate the voices for Vegeta, Freeza, Krillin... but never Gohan. I don't know why he's been re-cast. Oh well, perhaps it's for the best...
