Redrawn scenes looked nice this episode, I'm just wondering why not just redraw the entire fighting sequence, instead of mixing it with the old material...are they trying to get the viewers notice on purpose, or is the tracer just lazy?

Not necessarily. There was an instrumental of "Hitori ja nai" in the very last episode of DBGT, long after it had stopped being used as the closing theme.

And One Piece still uses an instrumental of "We Are!" for it's episode previews.

The one thing you got to love about the Freeza saga is that Goku's hair changes in EVERY shot. I was hoping Kai would fix this but sadly they didn't.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

That does suck, but at least in Kai we're getting more good shots than bad ones. I was expecting the whole thing to be cringe-worthy.

It's really not that bad, if anything it's just funny. I will say that aside from the necessary fix-ups I wish Kai would just clean up and re-color old scenes instead of redrawing them because a lot of the non redrawn scenes looked great in this episode.

Wow. That whole dialogue scene with Goku and Freeza after the reveal that Namek was still there was redrawn, unless I'm mistaken. Nearly all of the following short fight was redrawn too.

Too bad they made a really obvious re-use of it later in the episode.

So? The original Z reused animation ALL THE TIME.

Including that very same animation.

That sort of makes the point, then, doesn't it?

If DB Kai is an improved version of DBZ, shouldn't it be, I don't know... IMPROVED?

I never really watched DBZ, so I wouldn't know. But using the exact same shot twice a few minutes apart is just annoying, whatever the show.

Standards were a little different back in the day. And reasonably so.

I noticed it, too. It made me chuckle. That doesn't mean I like the idea, though. While re-used scenes don't destroy my entire perception of reality, I'd rather not see more of it.

Either way, I'm just glad they re-used the traced scene, as opposed to using the traced one and then switching over to the original scene the second time.

It looks good they can use it as much as they want, as long as it works.

Except the budget for an average Pokémon episodes is not as high as it was for DBZ.
