What's The First Episode You Watched? (When/Dub/Scene?)

1999, the episode when Piccolo died against Nappa. The show highly interested me, and eleven years later I'm posted about Dragon Ball on a message board.

My first episode was at age five, and I just stumbled upon the show one day. I believe back then the show was on UPN(?) and I happened to catch episode thirty where Vegeta and Goku where fighting and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. When I went to school that following week, I told my best friend about this "awesome fighting show" I saw on TV. It turned he had been watching the show some time before I had discovered it; he explained to me all the stuff I missed and told me it was called Dragonball. I watched the show just about every day until they started airing re-runs then I forgot about the series for a while. When I was about nine years old I caught the show again on Cartoon Network and since then I've been hooked on the series.

When? 1995/96 on YTV.
Dub? The second(?) english dub.
Scene? Ocean dub I believe it was.. I distinctly remember it was the Boss Rabbit episode, and Goku was flying high up into the sky with the Nyoibo/Power Pole.

In a year's time, I was introduced to the rest of the 13 censored episodes that were broadcast at the time on YTV. A Few months later, my fandom was solidified as I watched in awe; the viewing of the cantonese dub of Movie 8.

I never looked back after that. /lie *stares at the $2000 + of accumulated merchandise.

Ahh, the good old days when Dragonball creeped out of obscurity. Magical times. Magical times..

I remember bits and pieces but have rewatched them on the internet lately.

I think my first episode was when raditz was being held by goku and they both died. That got me hooked, also the snake way mini-series was one of my favourite parts of DBZ so I kept watching and that's the end of that.

It was in 2002 I think or around then.

My first episode, if my memory's working, was 'An Intense Three-Hour Delay! The Kinto Un Bullet-Express' (episode 26 of Z).
I saw it, way back in 91, whilst visiting relatives in France. It was part of the Club Dorothee Summer Holiday morning line-up. I was 9. Those were the days....

Truth be told, I got rather pissed-off with all the waiting around in that episode. Almost put me off the fucking franchise...

Hmm, I want to say the first episode I saw was in 2000, since that was the first year we had cable. It was (obviously) the Funi dub, I think with Vegeta fighting Cell in his second form...? Then I couldn't remember for the life of me when it was on, what channel, or what it was called, so the next time I caught it was in a rerun cycle starting from when Trunks showed up, again on CN. I think it was that same summer though, so not long after.

I mainly started watching it because I recognized Vegeta as "that guy with funny hair that I got at Burger King some time ago."

For me it was 2 years ago (yes I actually didn't like DB when I was a kid. I was way into Pokemon to get into anything else). It was Episode 1 of DBZ with the FUNi dub with Japanese music track from the Orange Bricks that I had downloaded (I had since bought the set 2 months later, then I traded it along with Orange Bricks 2 & 3 to get Dragon Box Z 1). I don't download Dragon Ball episodes anymore. I always support the official releases. When I first saw the whole Saiyan Saga I didn't get most of it, so I watched the original series to help me understand it more.

I may be wrong about this, but I think the first episode I actually sat down and watched was the one where Goku and Yamcha fought. I mean, I had seen bits and pieces of episodes from time to time, though they were always of Z. Gut this time I was actually interested in watching it. I believe it was the day the episode was first broadcast on Toonami, obviously the Funimation dub.

I vividly remember reading the manga for the first time, though. I picked up volumes 4 and 5 from a local library and couldn't get enough of it. Both were a pretty long time back, though.
