That project title sounds so... odd. At least with Sonic 4 it was "Project: Needlemouse" which made some sense, but this... I dunno.
Hope it's not Zenkai Battle Royal. Make it Burst Limit 2 or Supersonic Warriors 3!

Why couldn't Zenkai be ported to the 360? Do you have a source on that?

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
The arcade board it runs on is derivative hardware based on the PS3. It could be ported, but it would take time and money.ThunderPX wrote:Why couldn't Zenkai be ported to the 360? Do you have a source on that?
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.
Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
Why that I do: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/113/1137215p1.htmlThunderPX wrote:Why couldn't Zenkai be ported to the 360? Do you have a source on that?
"The second good bit of news is that it runs on PlayStation 3 based "System 357" hardware, meaning a home console port should be a simple job once the game has run its course in Japanese game centers."
Information on System 357: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namco_System_357
It basic runs on the same specifications as the Playstation 3 and logistically would be as hard to port as a Playstation 3 exclusive game.
Given that the 360 version of Raging Blast 2 didn't sell very well in Japan so I could never see them going the extra mile to bother.

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
Oh, I forgot about that! I guess it makes sense that it'd be harder to port to 360. On the other hand, from what I've heard, the 360 just generally doesn't do well in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if they did port it just to get extra sales in the West. I know Ultimate Butoden still hasn't been released, but I'd chalk that up to the 3DS being released, and Microsoft isn't planning to release a new console anytime soon.

Yes no Spike!!!! Something however tells me that this game is Zenkai Battle Royale only because the release date is so soon.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Thing is, I love the gameplay for that game... I just don't like the look. Spike would also need to add transformations and a few more characters (around the 20-25 mark in total) for me to be happy with it. I basically just want the main cast.goku the krump dancer wrote:Yes no Spike!!!! Something however tells me that this game is Zenkai Battle Royale only because the release date is so soon.
Also, if it is Zenkai then Spike may have a hand in it, just look at all the animations in Zenkai.

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
Yeah I think the gameplay in ZBR looks really cool too and yes I do know that there are a lot of identical animations in that game that compare to the games that were made by Spike. So I kinda contradicted myself in my previous post but only because I didnt really like the way Spike was heading with the Raging Blast series.Jaruka wrote:Thing is, I love the gameplay for that game... If this game is something completely different or is in fact ZBR I'm still happy either way.

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
Surprised there will be a home console game this year, what with Kai being canceled and recent games not doing so hot. I'd also guess this is a port of Zenkai. If it's different enough, I'd consider buying it; the reason I didn't buy either of the Raging Blasts is that I'm tired of the same old thing.
I'm also still hoping for that Ultimate Butoden international release. I know I want to play that game.

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
It's just a codename, it doesn't have to make sense. The GameCube was codenamed the Dolphin, and I dare you to try and explain why that name fits.ShadowDude112 wrote:That project title sounds so... odd. At least with Sonic 4 it was "Project: Needlemouse" which made some sense, but this... I dunno.
And it's not that weird a codename. In Dragon Ball instead of years they call years Ages, and the game will (probably) come out in 2011. Makes perfect sense to me. More sense than Project Needlemouse in-fact.

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
But, Needlemouse was what they were originally going to call Sonic "Mr. Needlemouse" but they changed it. Sure, the Dolphin makes no sense but I guess Ages makes sense getting it explained to me. But I seriously don't understand why we need a Project name if it's just going to be a port of Zenkai Battle Royale or just some other game that's coming out in less than 7 months if it wants to be out by the end of 2011.Taku128 wrote:It's just a codename, it doesn't have to make sense. Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
I'm excited, no matter what it is, just as long as it isn't another Budokai title. I really wouldn't mind a 2D fighter for the series, but I rather it be based off the original/first part of the series. During the portion where it would have made more sense to p-p-p-k-vk-<p-Kamehameha, instead of flying around and shooting ki attacks every 3 seconds. Since its said to be a 3D title, I wouldn't mind another Raging Blast, a Zenkai port, or something else entirely. Just as long as its fun and has a decent amount of characters and stages. I won't go for extremes, but like someones else said, as long as we cover the main cast and locations I'll be happy (though the extra mile is always appreciated. =P).
EDIT: I also wouldn't mind if it was some sort of home version of Heroes that didn't use the cards. I wouldn't mind them keeping the Budokai graphics, but as long as it wouldn't go back to the same fighting engine I'd be happy. Find some sort of middle ground between Raging Blast and Burst Limit or something... lol

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
Heh, I was talking to my older cousin about the next Dragon Ball game, then this pops up.
I would hope for a game with a complete coverage of the anime series (INCLUDING GT) just for a good story mode with good cutscenes, and more character choice (with could hopefully make an online mode more fun) More transformations, power ups, abilities and something similar to Zenkai Battle Royale in terms of fighting more than 1 person at a time. Anything like that in an ONLINE mode would make me a VERY happy camper.

GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
I don't know why, but I have a feeling that since the title says "Project Age 2011", "Age" being years in Dragon Ball, that it could have something to do with something that took place around GT's or DBO's storyline. I dunno why I think this, though. It's just a guess. All I hope for is that it'll be a great (or atleast a good) game.

Here's hoping that it's a sequel to Burst Limit. The RB series just ain't doin' it. I'd rather play Super DBZ than those, heh.
Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
I completely agree. I'm so sick of the Raging Blast games. I doubt they would come out with a Burst Limit 2 after such a long time, but I'm all for a game that plays like Burst Limit. Actually, give me a non-sucky Dragonball Sagas darnit!Ultimate_DB_Fan wrote:Here's hoping that it's a sequel to Burst Limit. The RB series just ain't doin' it. Re: New Dragonball Game - PS3/360 - Codename: Project Age 20
I hope it's really Zenkai Battle Royale because I'm stick of the gameplay that we got for the past five years. I admit that RB2 was fun and better then the first one which is not saying much. I'm pretty sure a 360 port could be made since they said the same thing about FF13 not being released on the 360.
Having it as a PS3 exclusive could make it have less sales since the first Ultimate Ninja Storm game sold poorly which is why the sequel was on both systems IIRC?

On the slight chance that it is, which it probably isn't.
