I'm not buying it. I can't believe that Salagir would make a change that significant. That's just crazy since it would substantially affect everything after Freeza.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
While I hate everything this stands for just as much as the next guy, this is just one universe that all these changes were made to, right? That's not breaking any Dragon Ball rules. After all, the Androids were significantly weaker in Trunks' timeline.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
It just comes off as ridiculously contrived and tacky.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
No, the power level of Freeza is for every universe.
The whole retcon of Freeza's power is because of a mistranslation of the power of Freeza's second form being 100,000 instead of 1,000,000. He liked it, so he stuck with it. It really wouldn't bother me if he had been more upfront, and not acted like this is a continuation of the Manga canon, because it's clearly an AU story.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The whole thing is just stupid though. If you retcon Freeza's power that low, then it changes everything before as well. If second form Freeza is 100,000, then a lot of the other characters are nerfed as well.
- If second form Freeza is 100,000, then his first form is obviously less, 50k?
- Ginyu sure as hell isn't 120k, should be less than 1st form Freeza.
- Jheese, Butta, and Recoome are probably near 30k, the lower end of their possible manga range of 30-60k.
- Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan are obviously included as well
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Apparently Ginyu IS 120K still, according to Salagir. I don't know, it's weird.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:The whole thing is just stupid though. I wouldn't mind him squashing the power levels down if he was consistent with it, and importantly, up front about it.
I can't really judge him for bringing Freeza's power level down considering I'm doing the same thing for my AU fanfic

I think it's a good idea to do but it's bad that this is coming out just now, and we were never told that this would be AU. Instead we were lead to believe that U18 was exactly the same as the manga canon with just some movie material thrown in.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The only thing that matters is that Freeza being 100,000 in 2nd form was never actually stated in the main story or special, so it's still compatible to the manga. I could care less what Salagir posted. It means nothing if it's not written in the comic. So I think I will continue to think Freeza's battle power in the first form is 520,000 (correct me if I'm wrong) in this special.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm still tolerating it...for now
Altered powers without advance warning, bad inglish gramerz, and annoying disregard for basic scientific accuracy is pushing me over the edge all in this single chapter. (I know Dragon Ball is a world of magic and fantasy, but still.) Nerfed characters are fighting in space without air, and having a poorly written conversation even though none of them should be able to hear each other talk, or the sound effects, as there is no medium for the sound to travel through...
BTW, DBKHD, it's 530,000.

Problem is, Salagir also stated that the Oozaru thing isn't a 10x boost (Super Saiyan is).DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:The only thing that matters is that Freeza being 100,000 in 2nd form was never actually stated in the main story or special, so it's still compatible to the manga. So, the Oozaru won't even be at 100,000. And Freeza has to transform to deal with them. Makes it a bit hard to pretend the manga battle powers still apply.
Also, minor question, is battle power the correct terminology? I've been using power level, but that might be just a dub term. I've seen most people around here say battle power.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The original term is 戦闘力, sentō-ryoku. It can translate out to "Combat Power", "Battle Power", "Fighting Power", "Combat Strength", "Battle Strength", "Fighting Strength", etc. A lot of Japanese products, like cards, use "BP" as the unit to measure the power of the card, so "Battle Power" is probably most prominent.Saiga wrote:Also, minor question, is battle power the correct terminology? Power Level isn't really wrong, it gets the point across, but it's not really correct either. lol

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Right. The "problem" with power level is that it doesn't have any mention of fighting or any such word, but it doesn't really take away form the purpose. Since it is implied that the power is used for fighting, it kind of goes without saying. But, yeah. Battle power.TheDevilsCorpse wrote: Power Level isn't really wrong, it gets the point across, but it's not really correct either. lol
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
All right, got you. Battle power sounds cooler anyway, I'll use that.

He said that each level of Super Saiyan is a x10 boost from the last.
