Why does this seem familiar to me? Either way, it looks awesome!
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

It reminds me of the (french) cover of the movie: "Wrath of the Dragon"
Image
It brings back old memories n_n

I'm fine with the throwback, but for some reason I don't like the colours... too 'flashy', maybe?

Good luck, StarRot, and thank you again!

He looks more like a Makaioshin than Makaio to me, because he looks very ominous, and his presence makes him look like it.

Rather than being throwbacks, this guy seems to be unable to come up with unique poses of his own. Everything looks familiar. (=referenced/traced)

I don't have too much respect for that. It's like making a collage of the manga and hoping it looks like a new story. Toyble suffers from this too from time to time. Especially in the beginning. DBM has this much less, which is why I respect that fan manga the most.

Toyble was able to break away from that a LONG time ago.

Yeah, for the most part. To be honest though, I've liked his art a lot less since he did...

The updated version of volume 1 and 2 have just been shipped, I should get them in a few weeks.
Also bid on volume 3 again, let's see if I can win it this time.

The art work is nothing original but I do like how the stroy is going. Good to see that Goku is not the main character.

Yes, I will buy volume 4, but not until it starts to come down in price.
8000+ is far too much for me to spend on a newly released doujinshi.

Nobody pays for a translation, Herms usually translates free.
If you don't post the scans it's impossible to have translations before, don't you think?
