What do you guys think of SSJ4?

It's only called "Super Saiyan 4" out of convenience. It's stronger than Super Saiyan 3, so it's Super Saiyan 4. In actuality, it's more like a mix of Oozaru and Super Saiyan, which is what makes it so different.

I don't know why anyone wants SSJ4 to be Gold. SSJ4 being a different colour is what made it unique. It looked like a whole other form. I understand some people hate the bright red (pink) fur, I personally don't care too much. I want SSJ4 to look differently for everyone. Hair style, fur colour, hair colour, etc. Everyone would have a unique look and style.

I also don't think Super Saiyan 4 would look good gold. I mean, it sounds good in theory, but in practice I think I actually prefer the color scheme they went with. It's cool that it retains the golden aura, though.

I've seen Gold SSJ4's. The color scheme just doesnt go very well for the GT outfits for Goku and Vegeta.

Part of why it is so unique is because it looks nothing like SSJ but is. SSJ4 looks like a whole other deal. SSJ forms always got longer and more spiky hair, SSJ4 was different. Making the form gold would be playing it safe for people who want SSJ forms to always be gold. Super forms don't have to always be gold like Goku, Sonic, Seiya, (unfortunately Yuma), etc. Gold has become the stereotypical Super form colour. Take away the unique colour scheme and you don't got SSJ4, you have a hairy SSJ who forgot to shave.

I find it awkward and unnecessary, much like GT :3

The best Super Saiyan form for me was numero uno, during the Freeza Saga, when it was brand new and special and the animators at Toei actually gave a damn to make it look extra god-like:

...unfortunately by the time Majin Buu came around and everyone and their auntie could turn Super Saiyan, the design had long since lost it's edge and got sloppy looking.

Super Saiyan 4 doesn't look...super, to me. Just extra fur. And eyeliner. And a mullet...and mysterious pants o_O

I like Supe Saiyan 4, I think it was a step in the right direction and allowed more unique designs to be made. Too bad we only saw two (technically three if you count Gogeta) characters use it. I kind of wish they expanded on it and perhaps even phased out Super Saiyans 1-3 all together. You know, it shouldn't have even been called Super Saiyan 4. It's really a shame that such a unique design was bogged down as some sort of sequel rather than it's own, respective transformation.

Cool. But I don't see how it wouldn't be classified as a Super Saiyan form. What would you call it Perfect Oozaru.

I think gold SS4 would just be a little to much. I would imagine that they toyed with the idea of using gold instead of red and black and I'm glad they didn't go with gold.

I would call it "Giant Golden Monkey in smaller non golden base-ish extra hairy with magical pants and age alteration... form..." or GGMISNGBEHWMPAAAF1 for short.

I put the 1 there since GGMISNGBEHWMPAAAF should be seperate from SS so SS4 is really GGMISNGBEHWMPAAAF1 because you never know maybe at some point we can have GGMISNGBEHWMPAAAF2 or maybe just maybe Gogeta was GGMISNGBEHWMPAAAF2 since he looked different.
