TheDevilsCorpse, how are the translations of the back-story going?

School is being an utter bitch. So, I told her not to worry about them for now and just put them off till summer. She'll still have classes then, but things should at least be easier with less of them. Letting her focus on school and her future is more important than a couple of game details we've gone years without knowing already. =P

Since I've been starting to re-read all the DBO story, could someone tell me the stories of the Dungeons? I'm lost with these.

"There are many types of monsters that scare me: Monsters who cause troubles without showing themselves, monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood… and then, monsters who tell nothing but lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others: They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they’ve never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them… because in truth, I am that monster."

So, in addition to the timeline and the extra excerpts from the DBO guidebook (Volume 1) that I've been translating with TheDevilsCorpse, I felt like foraging for some more things to translate from this game--preferably quest dialogues and storylines because I'm sort of interested in them too, haha.

But uh...LOL has anyone been crazy enough to take copious amounts of screenshots of things like the text boxes of NPCS and such whilst playing this game or have been saving up typed versions of dialogues? I've never played DBO myself and personally am not at the leisure to commit myself for hours and hours of gameplay at the moment.
I have tried looking through the official Korean DBO page but the majority of information there pertain to things like events. (Maybe some of you are interested in those too, though?)

In any case, if anyone can actually find some translatable items of interest, (I've obviously had little luck, and the little goodies I've found so far, I'm in the process of translating them), please let me know! :)

Guys at DBOCom.com have a DBO translation tool. Perhaps there you would find most of the DBO text.

Thanks, I've been looking through for a while. From what I could gather so far though, they seem to have translated quite a few things from the Chinese version of the game.
I don't speak Chinese so I can't go back and forth but by comparing some of the Chinese and Korean translations, there seem to be minor discrepancies, mainly with names; not sure if that matters though.

The translation tool does seem to be helpful in helping players get the gist of things but after reading through some of the translations, it seems that the tool definitely gives some jumbled and nonsensical results and seems to skip over some details.
So far, I haven't found a lot of items that haven't been translated already and I'm not sure how effective the English patch of the game is. But still, that forum is huge and who knows, maybe I' might find something good later.
But if anyone does have access to the Korean texts at the moment, it'd be great if they could share, lol. Because in addition to the guidebook, I genuinely am interested in providing you all with direct Korean to English translations of this game. Being an information junkie myself, I know how annoying it is to have knowledge practically in your hands but not being able to understand it.

If not, I'll just not worry about it for now, haha.

I believe many people have contributed to the translations, many of which were translated with the help of Google Translator. So unless accuracy is not an issue, you'd need to translate everything.

Yup, that's fine with me! Not making any promises on a speedy translation though--it'll be a massive amount of text to get through, haha. (when I do manage to get a hold of those, of course)
But for the time being, I'm just going to focus on finishing up with the guidebook.

Welcome HG-Project. Sadly, I think the handful of users that played the Korean version are inactive. If only making a KR account was easier...
Also to not go off topic in the BoG thread:
TheDevilsCorpse wrote:That I can get behind, and there is even a slight connection between the two (with the next TMQ supposed to be Freeza vs. SS Goku, and Birus having watched part of that battle in the film).

I'm going to be pissed if the game dies before they finish the story. I hate unintended cliffhangers. lol
Yeah, I would hate for it to have the usual cancelled MMO ending where the main villains just storm the main cities with hordes of strong minions for no real reason. But then again it is an MMO so it seems unlikely they have an actual ending planned.
DBZGTKOSDH wrote:If they decide to end it, I guess they will finish the story quickly, and then kill it. At least I hope so...
My personal hope would be that they just finish Towa/Miira's arc and then maybe retool the story to a new product.

What what what? It's going to end? I was so frustrated from the language barrier and slow unenjoyable progress in leveling, that I even uninstalled the game.... And we will never see english version :(

Nothing has been said, it's just our assumption based on the extremely slow progress being made on the developers end. Nearly two years since the last TMQ was added and a year since the last UD was tossed in. Things aren't boding well.

Yeah, I have noticed it too. I wanted Goku SSJ and Mecha Freeza TMQs so much (DBO has awesome story mode animations.)
So sad to think that it might die :(

Never achieved to make it to the TMQs and was trying hard. One of those things, why I lost interest in this game, because those first three basic time travel missions were such fun.
Also leveling was god damn slow, I was on level 27 and got on 28 after month, wasn't even able to finish some of those missions that were under my level.
Never found single dragon ball, after being on hunt pretty long. Waste of time....
