Regardless he's still a voice actor. Official or not. I listen my favorite voices of Rikum. Just so happens TFS is one of them and the other is dubs. If I liked the voice it's my opinion =/. If I liked SSJ2Gozar's Rikum voice then I would include him.

TeamFourStar NEVER counts as a dub! This is a pet peeve of mine. It's not an official dub, and it's a parody.

Its a parody, not a performance. You listed a bunch of dubs, and then a parody. One of these things is not like the others.

Its designed to be a parody, but if you want to get technical, even though it's not official, they are still making a "dub" by definition. They are dubbing new lines onto preexisting footage after the initial recording process was already completed after all. You can argue the dialogue and footage edits if you want, but as seen with Funimation, even official dubs can do that (to an extent).

DevilsCorpse, I get your point about the term "dub" which is why I clarified it by adding modifiers like "fan" and "official". Yes, official dubs can change words but a parody isn't the same thing. TeamFourStar's Reacoom (or any character for that matter) is intended to make the audience laugh. In the official dubs, Reacoom is silly but he's also a villain that you are supposed to root against when he hurts the heros.

I hate this as well. DBE is bad, but I think it will be one of those movies that will fade into obscurity in another decade from now. People will be like "Hey did you know that they made a live action DBZ movie back in the late 2000's?".

All of Rikum's english dub made me more then TFS cause of how stupid it sounds =/. But I never mention it's a dub. All I said that he was one of my faovirte Rikum voices. So now he never voiced Rikum cause of your "Definition". Hell The original Funimation Dub(Both ocean and in-house) was more of a parody then TFS. I don't understand how any bad movie "rapes" someone's childhood. That stuff is still there, the memories as well. I don't see how a crappy Transformers movie or Dragon Ball film hurts what you experienced as a child.

The "Only" as if that's something small. And the intent and purpose behind it. There's nothing weird. As bad as the Z dub is, it's not more of a parody than the thing which its very purpose for being is to satirize or mock the original work.

I get it, you only said voice but it's a completely different beast altogether regardless if it's the same music and animation.

What makes something official is if the dubbing company owns the license to the property.

Lash is a harsh word, and not how I intended for it to come across. Also, I didn't take it too seriously. I neither lashed out at you, nor did I do so for liking the voice. My point of contention was comparing it like it's in the same wheelhouse as official dubs. Like what you like, but when you put that voice (which I found to be terrible, FYI) in the same sentence as official dub voices, it's hard not to make the inference that they are in the same league.

I find GT worst then DBE. With DBE, I knew it was going to suck and I found enjoyment out of it because it was so cheesy and stupid. With GT, I had high hopes for it before I saw it. GT had the idea of Goku becoming a kid again, a new SSj form, villains coming back to life, evil dragons and Super 17 (#17 was my favorite cyborg in the series. As a kid, I was really looking forward to the Super 17 saga). With all of that stuff you can be like "Sounds awesome. What can go wrong since Toei has done a good job on Dragon Ball without Akira Toriyama help before?". With DBE, everyone knew it was going to be a total disaster. I remember people were laughing in the theater when they show the trailer in front of Watchmen. I don't think anyone bought the toys since I remember seeing them a few months after the movie came out in the bargain bin at Walmart .

I am a big Buffy fan, so I dig James Marsters, and I love his enthusiasm for Dragon Ball Z, but I remember reading comments where he thought DBZ was better than Dragon Ball and how the movie made improvements to DB.

Yeah, I'm not really sure why I dislike Ocean Recoome, but I do. Something about the voice just seems off to me.

Ocean dub voice wasn't all that good to be honest.
