Funny or ignorant things you've heard a DB fan say?

Depends on what you mean by "normal" physical bodies. There are omega level mutants in Marvel that easily overpower DB characters, and they are biologically human. Most of the Marvel "gods" like Thor are actually advanced alien races; not gods, per say. I'm not as sure about the DC characters, but the greatest Green Lanterns are capable of stalling Superman; something that Goku couldn't dream of doing.

DB characters are tough, but they are not top tier powers when taking into account other fictional universes.

See, this is what I'm getting at, though.

I think Goku at the end of Z could whoop Superman in a slug-fest, and I also think he could vaporize Superman with a ki blast - even though physical strength and the ability to shoot plasma out of your hands are merely two specific superpowers. I mean, if we include stuff like New 52 (I have no idea what is canon and what is not anymore in the western comic world), then yeah, Superman can lift some odd number of SEXTILLION TONS...but let's not forget that the strength of Superman and other comic book heroes varies greatly between works. Goku and the rest of the Z fighters have certainly not had the kind of continuous supplementary power boosts that a lot of comic characters have through constant reinventions and plot points. Goku, especially, just trained.

Any time someone says that something in the franchise is "non cannon."
That extra "n" bugs me so much that I tend to ignore what they were saying to begin with.

How about when someone say "Akira said this was non canon/cannon(People who spell it wrong)" when Mr AT says nothing about canon material. Battle of Gods is debatable through. Most of those are from the Funimation fans through.....who on YOUTUBE know only the english dub and maybe Dbz wiki.

Depends on the Superman(Not a fan of DC so I'm a little ignorant.). The original Superman didn't really have no feats at all. He would have be a challenge in DragonBall but no DBZ. I think his greatest feats were faster than bullets and lifting up cars. Not to start a Superman vs GOku debate. So back on topic please.

On topic: I heard a fan say Mr.AT prefer the English dub over his own voice actors and that the english dub was the true accurate story. Then Kai came out....and he never went on Youtube again.

I think Funi purist are easily the worst. I think they hate the Ocean voice cast and Kai because it's not the same. I hate it when people get blinded by nostalgia sometimes. It reminds me how Transformers and Power Rangers fans are when it comes to MMPR and the G1 series.

This is not in terms of his current style but the person I spoke to literally thinks he can't draw anatomy or characters that well because he's getting older. Just because you don't like a certain style doesn't mean that person is a bad artist.

1. Base Goku could react to Buuhan's punch and IT away from it.
2. Janemba, who is faster than base Goku, could not react to SS Gogeta's melee.

Couldn't agree more, people blinded by nostalgia is the ultimate thing that annoys me.
It's amazing, if you listen to some of them, EVERYTHING was better back then than it is now. How is that even possible that NOT A SINGLE THING, not a single aspect is better?
"Blinded" is indeed the right word, cause apparently they do suffer a condition where they can't see what's around them right now at all.

I feel sad for them for not being able to realize those wonderful things we have today, the wonderful evolutions, each era has its own good things you should enjoy and living exclusively in the past leads nowhere.
The past had its legendary things and unique advantages you can still enjoy, but the present has its own, and the future still holds some more.

So hating something just because "they dare to do something different than what I've known back then" is beyond me. Rejection "by default" of updating/novelty is beyond me (sometimes before even having seen/heard even a glimpse of the new product, which proves how it's a "default setting" in some people to just reject anything different than what they knew no matter what).

This actually happened. I paraphrased a situation my friend experienced.

I don't understand how any bad movie "rapes" someone's childhood. That stuff is still there, the memories as well. I don't see how a crappy Transformers movie or Dragon Ball film hurts what you experienced as a child.

DBE was just a minor annoyance to me, but it could change the way you look back on something. For example, I'll always consider the old episodes of Futurama to be good, but I like the series considerably less now that it was revived unsatisfactorily.

I don't think a lot of these comments are flat out "dumb" so much as "ignorant". Ignorant in the sense that they just don't know any better, anyway, not in an offensive way.

The Phoenix force is omnipotent. And it has never faced a full power Galactus, only a starving one.

The Phoenix Force isn't omnipotent -- in Marvel, that's an honor that only goes to Jack Kirby. It's still very powerful, though if I'm remembering correctly, Galactus kind of throws in the towel because it's important to the order of the universe and stuff like that.

The Galactus thing was a bit crazy for sure. The page he brought up where Thor was actually able to hurt him was interesting though. I don't know how weakened Galactus was at that point.

I don't have a problem with people who don't consider GT anything of serious value, although denying it seems a bit far.

Assuming it's the old Thor comic where he drove Galactus away with the God Blast, that was a starving Galactus on the verge of eating a planet. I'd have to see the issue to be sure though. Full power Galactus has never been beaten by anything other than other high level cosmic entities, like IG Thanos, or the combined strength of Tenebrous and Aegis.

I love when I get to bring my inner Marvel fanboy out.

Still, even when he's half dead Galactus is still a serious threat and he's beaten Thor while on the verge of it in other comics. (ex. Fantastic Four #242-244, where he smacks him around along with the rest of the Avengers) Of course, the circumstances were different, but even in really bad condition, Galactus is still head-and-shoulders above Thor. If people are using that as an argument for why Goku could beat Galactus, they probably need to read more comics.

And yeah, I love an opportunity to bring out my inner Galactus fangirl.

Part of me doesn't think that's quite an accurate comparison. Is it dated? Sure. But the first two Christopher Reeve films are still the best received Superman films to date. On the other hand, most Transformers fans, save a handful of purists, will usually admit that there are better series than G1.

Marvel has what I like to call "tiers of omnipotence." Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, Pre-Retcon Beyonder, Thanos with the Heart of the Universe (where he actually became the One Above All), The One above All (who, IIRC, is portrayed as Jack Kirby in a FF comic.) All of these have been described repeatedly, in universe and by the writers, as omnipotent. Basically, they are all powerful, as long as a higher tier omnipotent being doesn't cancel them out. As seemingly paradoxical as the phrase is, Marvel often has characters who possess "virtual omnipotence." The Phoenix force is one of these. Galactus at full power is too, if I remember correctly.

And Galactus is just as important to the universe as the Phoenix is. His role is less defined, but he serves as a balance between Eternity and Death. Plus the whole Abraxis thing, which I'm not sure has been referenced since it happened.

And yeah, starved Galactus stomps Thor nearly every time they meet. I believe this happened in a recent issue of Thor, actually. Thor managed to drive him off once, waaaaaay back in the 60's.

Regardless, Goku doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of harming full power Galactus. He, with help from the rest of the Saiyans, might be able to drive off an extremely weakened one (the weakest we see Galactus is in an FF comic where he fights on the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and a few others at his lowest levels ever, and he's already near death when he arrives) but anything above that is way out of any Dragon Ball character's league.

Don't tell that to Broly-tards . They think Broly > Everything. But seriously what's with fans about DBZ being stronger than anything. Didn't DB itself state there is always someone stronger. I mean seriously they're pretty strong but other character from other series can beat them. Not a big deal. You'll never see it happen. So the character won't be embarrasses. To be honest I bet the Z fighters would love to see the stronger than life character in Marvel and DC(Through I hate DC so I'm ignorant about it not counting Teen Titans...all versions and Batman). The reason being that they would be in awe and be so impressed that they will try(But won't) to surpass that. Making them stronger. Goku would most likely get a size 88 Feet boner off of how strong the character are.

I think most of the Broli fandom comes here in the US. I think the video games made fans believe that Broli is super strong and he can fight against Gogeta. I remember 12 years ago, Broli was just another movie villain that most people don't seem to care about.
