Re: Dragon Ball Online Discussion
Guidebook info is translated. It's related to the game, but the information is in-universe content, so I threw it in that section like I did with the timeline back when we translated that. Check it out: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtop ... 52#p691552

Aww, leveling at these kind of levels wasn't that hard, you just needed motivation. Guild helps a lot too.MCDaveG wrote:Never achieved to make it to the TMQs and was trying hard. One of those things, why I lost interest in this game, because those first three basic time travel missions were such fun.
Also leveling was god damn slow, I was on level 27 and got on 28 after month, wasn't even able to finish some of those missions that were under my level.
Never found single dragon ball, after being on hunt pretty long. Waste of time....

Hmmph..... That happens when someone is playing MMO solo like me. I don't know how to socialize in this game. Hell, I was battling a lot in Old Republic in crazy missions and stuff with bunch of people, no problem.Nightstar1994 wrote:Aww, leveling at these kind of levels wasn't that hard, you just needed motivation. But thanks to the different language and completely not understanding the DBO mechanics, I'm totally alien.

So with no new TMQs since a year, is this game slowly dying? So sad, I wanted to see King Cold.

And year ago I've seen a picture of someone from the DBO staff working on Goku SSJ's model. Guess it got scrapped then.
What about the TMQ with Freeza? I remember seeing screenshots with Freeza 2 VS Piccolo and another one with Freeza 4. I've never seen it as a video though. Does it really exist atleast in the Korean version or what?

That picture is like two years old, maybe older.Nightstar1994 wrote:And year ago I've seen a picture of someone from the DBO staff working on Goku SSJ's model. Guess it got scrapped then.

They are real in all versions; the last TMQ ended with Freeza killing Vegeta. The videos exist on Youtube. It's just that the TMQs are so long and tedious at higher levels that no one wants to sit through the cutscenes. Which is a shame.
Re: Dragon Ball Online Discussion
TMQ cutscenes can be skipped, as long as all party members do that.

Re: Dragon Ball Online Discussion
That's what I was saying. The people recording those TMQs are already playing a long mission, they skip the cutscenes to get on with the game.

Oh, didn't read into the context. My bad.

Major bummer. MMO had a lot of potential, a shame we never got it over here. Perhaps a wider international market could have saved it.

Re: Dragon Ball Online Discussion
Agreed, this is one Dragon Ball game which I do not understand why it wasn't globally localized. U.S.A.'s and Brazil's market for Dragon Ball and MMORPGs is quite large too from what I understand.KentalSSJ6 wrote:Major bummer. MMO had a lot of potential, a shame we never got it over here. Also, in Europe, between at least England, Russia and Germany you'd have a decent market too.

Re: Dragon Ball Online Discussion
I remember seeing the gameplay videos on youtube. It looked like your average MMO in terms of gameplay and mechanics but it still was a DragonBall MMO. I'm sure a lot if not all the DBZ fans have wanted to make a character and fly around a fully designed Dragon World at one point. Sure it would have to compete with WOW but I think it would have had a dedicated fanbase over here.
Another reason I think it tanked is because well, didnt they almost never update the game in terms of content?

Re: Dragon Ball Online Discussion
Definitely sad to see this happening. I never got to try DBO though I always wanted to, even though I'm not big on MMO's. I doubt it will happen, but now I'm really hoping that someday, they salvage some of the story ideas from this game - specifically the back history - and use it anew somewhere else. There's lots of good stuff in there that I'd had to see go into the void never to be heard from again.

Re: Dragon Ball Online Discussion
I spent over a year playing this, had friends, guild...collected Dragon Balls...experienced SSJ, Giant Namek and Kid Buu...battled PvP and even used the Cash Shop few times. Then i quit after they updated the level cap to 70, was too bored to hit it.
Nonetheless, it was a truly entertaining experience in the world of Dragon Ball. R.I.P. DBO

Please, PLEASE tell me they're going to reuse the backstory in the future....

Latin-america would have loved this game...
We mourn it the same.
