Maybe I'm completely alone here, but I honestly don't care that much about in-game transformations. I mean, for one, this is not
Budokai or
Sparking!, this is a new series.
Still, though... I'm calling it now. Whenever the sequel comes out (which will be 2015 at the earliest.... jesus, I'll be a quarter-century old by then
), they'll include IGT's and advertise it like, "FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE BATTLE OF Z SERIES... TRANSFORM YOUR CHARACTERS...
IN BATTLE!" and then you'll have interviews with producers talking about how there's this cool new feature where, instead of having to select each individual form of a character, you'll
actually be able to transform during the game! This whole "leaving out a feature that we've had for 10 years and then reintroducing it in the sequel and passing it off as new and exciting" shtick is played the fuck out. I'd honestly rather they stick to their guns and keep them out for subsequent games to prove they're not full-of-shit sociopaths who leave features out intentionally.
...But I think Namco Bandai has proven this with the first
Raging Blast (
Sparking! METEOR was damn-near perfect! The only way to go is up!), as well as
Ultimate Blast (
Raging Blast 2 was damn-near perfect! The only way to go is... fuck it, fool me once, Namco Bandai).
Thanos before Thanos was cool.
