Overall, with the exception of a couple typos, the HK Blu-Ray subtitles seem rather good, even better than most of the fansub translations for BoG. I can tolerate "Bills", and "Frieza" doesn't bother me anymore, especially since my brain just flops the words over to the normal spellings of names. Glad I ordered it.

I look forward to watching the Blu-Ray with my friends/family when I travel home for Christmas (I had my Play-Asia order mailed over to my parents' house as a holiday gift.)
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Good thing I have the Chinese subtitles to fall back on with the Hong Kong release. I heard some of the Cantonese dub and I am utterly disappointed that none of the TVB voice actors reprise their roles for the home video release of "Battle of Gods". Guess it'll be a 1 or 2 year wait until TVB airs their dub of the movie. Kaioh sounds horrible on the bluray/DVD dub!

I still wouldn't mind seeing clips, even if the dub itself is iffy.

It was awful!
But I did like what they did for Goten's voice.

Other than Freeza's alternate spelling, maybe the use of Bills and that 'mpt tp destrpu' shiz, the subtitles are pretty much the same quality as the Funimation DVDs, Kuririn is still Kuririn in the subs, that one time he's mentioned, and sennin is translated as sage instead of hermit the one time it comes up.

I think I'll watch the movie again...

Is it like the one of the Korean dubs where it sounds exactly like Nozawa?

Did Korea dub this movie yet?

It came out to Korean theatres back in September so I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

I meant that clip from the DBZ dub proper that Kei posted on one of his accounts. But I can't seem to find it, haven't seen the movie in Korean yet, wouldn't mind watching it.

Goten doesn't sound anything like Nozawa in the Cantonese dub but he does sound child-like.

At least that's good casting then. Which sounds unfortunate since the rest of cast doesn't seem to sound good based on your report of the Cantonese dub.

Just re-watched BoG with my friend who had purposefully avoided learning anything about the movie. Loved getting his perspective. Here are some of the highlights some of you may enjoy:

Did not see Goku losing and even during the finale my friend was yelling "C'mon summon 'uncommon strength' ahhhhhh!"
Was surprised Beerus did not transform
Shocked that Whis was stronger (the best part was right as Beerus said "you're the 2nd strongest" he shouts "Well who the hell's the strongest that's just gonna drive Goku insane!") :D
12 universes ...jaw hits floor (yeah I think all of ours did first time we heard that)
Loved Vegeta getting some glory
Totally surprised at the Videl / Pan twist ...fav comment "Wonder what that will do to the baby, nah screw it they got the dragon balls"
Relieved Super Saiyan God Goku's lean look was not permanent
There were more but those are the ones that stick out

Overall he loved it and like me felt it was a perfect addition to the series.
"You might think you know everything there is to know about me, but really, you're not even CLOSE."

"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." ~ Sir Winston Chruchill / Dragon Ball Z in a nutshell

How I enjoy the anime:

He also said that Goku doesn't have to transform to use its power (as we saw in the movie as well), so his friend should remain happy. :P
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Did anyone else notice that Toei added Battle of Gods on their Youtube Channel for people to buy and watch?

But it tells me that this isn't available in my country. :P
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I already seen the movie plus I'm gonna buy the Blu-ray box set sometime or another. I just felt the need to post this so it's ''Kinda'' new info for people. :P

Didn't Goku transform again into SSJ God to absorb Birus's Death Ball?
I throught that scene signified that he could go SSJ God at will.

On second thought, I don't think Hola can unlock Japanese servers yet. But I use that app to watch American/UK/Brazilian Netflix. And it's free!
