I'm allergic to digital download, unless it's 10$ or less.

I prefer physical media myself, but if the price is right I'm willing to go digital. I'm leaning towards cancelling my PS3 order and grabbing this on Vita. I'm already a Plus member, and the $28 difference in price would be great for my wallet.Drev wrote:no bad, but still, i prefer to buy the physical japanese version for ps3 (already pre-ordered)Eddie wrote:The Vita version is going to be on sale on the NA PSN Store at launch.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
yeah but i don't suggest you to buy the vita version: it's not crossplay, so you will find lesser player online than ps3 version, that's for sure (and being a multiplayer online based game...the best choice it's ps3 after all. It would have been a good choice if psvita version is crossplay, but it's not).Eddie wrote:I prefer physical media myself, but if the price is right I'm willing to go digital. It should be noted that if you have plus it's 20% off, otherwise it's normal price. I think it's still apart of that buy 2 get $3 deal even without plus.Eddie wrote:The Vita version is going to be on sale on the NA PSN Store at launch.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
After the demo that sale is probably the best thing NBGI had done for the Vita version of the game.
So to recap NBGI's mishandling of the Vita version (which is mostly just NBGI America's doing):
-Only one audio track depending on your region: English for North America, Japanese for Europe and Asia. No plans to add the other track as DLC.
- Digital-only release in North America.
- The game features cross-save with PS3, but not cross-play despite a heavy focus on multiplayer.
- Despite this content existing in other regions on Vita, the North American release will apparently not feature the pre-order or day one DLC.
That last one is a headscratcher because we know that content exists on Vita. Vita PSN games have offered pre-order DLC before as an incentive to buy the game within the first two weeks, and the PlayStation Store supports digital pre-orders too. NBGI America is deciding that apparently Vita owners don't deserve the Sage Naruto costume, or Super Vegetto (!), and Super Saiyan Bardock. Watch them become available as paid DLC after the contract with the US retailers expire.
Anyway, here's a Japanese trailer specifically for the Vita version.

yes you are correct. The worst part is the absence of cross-play, making the vita version the worst ;(Super Saiyan Prime wrote:After the demo that sale is probably the best thing NBGI had done for the Vita version of the game.

Here is a photo of the 'Goku Edition' that Namco Bandai UK posted on their Instagram:

I quite like the look of this particular set, no crazy cluttering of characters and crappy art.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
While I agree that the lack of cross-play is a mistake, I won't say that means the Vita version is inferior on that basis alone. It appears that the demo was more popular on Vita in North America than on PS3 (look at the differences in ratings), so there could be a decently sized online community. Ultimately some may value portability, local multiplayer (the only version of the game to support that feature), the lower price point and Vita's form factor/control scheme over the graphical upgrade, marginal additional content, and larger community that the console versions boast.
Personally speaking, I'm bummed about the DLC situation. I couldn't care less about Super Saiyan Bardock, or Sage Goku but I don't understand why that content isn't in the North American Vita version when we know it exists on that platform elsewhere. A character like Super Vegetto shouldn't even be DLC. The voice track stuff also disappoints me, but to a lesser extent. I understand that Vita games have a file size limit and that no Vita version has been designed to support two audio tracks, but I would've preferred Namco Bandai released the alternate track as even paid DLC rather than omit it entirely.
This reminds me, a few months ago I brought up Gundam Breaker. I mistakenly attributed that game's development to Artdink. It was actually developed by Crafts & Meister, the studio behind Super Dragon Ball Z. Artdink did develop a Gundam game on Vita, but that was a year or so earlier.

The Vita has one difference as to why it can't be cross play.
The Energy Gauge only has 4 parts on Vita whereas it has 5 on PS3/360
A pretty pointless change
