Thanks. It still doesn't look right to me
It's the eyes, I would be able to tell it was Freeza just by looking at those eyes you drew. That's something I forgot with my drawing as well, Freeza's weird hand-feet wouldn't really fit into Goku's boots.

I can show you a much better way that'll retain your line art and make it black without getting the aliased threshold look.
I use GIMP but I only started using it very recently so I'm a complete rookie. Applying threshold is indeed what I do, but I'm all ears if you can give me a better suggestion. I've been wondering how they do it for the Multiverse fancomic for example.

Edit: aaaand another one:
Day 17:
Day 18:
Day 19:
Man, this post is gonna be loooooooooong!
Those all look really good, I think the Cell and the Cell Jr one is my favorite. I was a little worried you weren't going to upload any more, I look forward to seeing these.
Ah, I see. I don't have any experience with GIMP unfortunately.
I'll list the steps for Photoshop anyway.
- You would take your line art, adjust the curves til it's looking naturally dark without pixelating.
- Then, making sure your layer isn't locked, you'll want to select it all (CTRL + click the layer thumbnail) and hit Cut (CTRL+X).
- You'll then want to hit 'Q' which will put you into Quick Mask mode. Then hit Paste (CTRL+V) and you'll see your line art in a light red hue on a transparent background.
- Hit 'Q' again to exit Quick Mask mode and you'll find then you've now got a transparent selection of your line art. Create a new layer and you can now fill this (Edit > Fill) and you should be done.
- You may have to invert the selection before filling it if you end up with a black background and transparent line art. Simply go to Select > Inverse and THEN fill it and you'll be done!
I was starting to wonder where you guys went on this.
I think I like your SS Goku the best out of your new batch of stuff TrunksTrevyln, but then again, I really like Goku's initial look in the form back when it first came out. For some reason, it just never looks quite like that again.
For yours' Scarz, loving the Videl. I seriously think she's who you draw best. Also got a good chuckle out of the genderbent Red and Black.

Hmm...maybe a reverse on that as well, and she'd want to wish to be shorter? Seems common enough in anime/manga that a tall girl feels uncomfortable when she's too tall.

I feel it may have something to do with the lighting on Namek, as well as simply the fact that there aren't as many lines in the hair yet.
Also Ajay, that method indeed doesn't seem to work quite the same on GIMP (I don't get the light red hue thing for example), but thanks all the same. I was aware of the Curves technique but I don't really trust myself with that. It seems hard to get the exact black/white ratio you want, but I dunno maybe I need to mess around with it more.
This may be my best one yet, I really like how it turned out even if it's just a simple face:

Oh yeah, it definitely won't work in GIMP. I just posted it in case you ever had a chance to play around in Photoshop!
Yeah, the lines on SS Goku's hair kinda detract from it's look later on. There's just something about how simple it looks at first that really appeals to me.
And yeeeessss. The champ has arrived!

I really do love that early part of the Boo arc, where it's almost a slice of life adventure with Gohan's misadventures. Actually kind of wish that feeling had stuck around much longer.

Just wanted to say congrats to TrunksTrevelyan! Man, you knocked out of the park with these daily DB drawings. I was not expecting February to be such a busy month for me, so I was unable to keep up. But you kept with it! I'm really hoping this will become a thing again next year and I can give it another shot.

Thanks! At the moment I really don't want to think about doing this another time (I'm hoping to start drawing an original comic series this year, so that'll take priority), but who knows. Feel free to start one up yourself anytime. xD
