I created the thread, "The Physics of Dragon Ball"

On topic, back in the late 90s, I bought the video game DBZ Legends, and I mistakenly thought Kaioshin's world was New Namek. Dunno why.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

There's always gonna be debates like that. A couple of years ago, on Supernatural, in one episode, Lucifer killed a bunch of Pagan gods, and didn't bat an eyelash when Khali attacked him. I loved the episode, but apparently many of the negatives stemmed from people complaining about how the goddess Khali would crush, who's "just" an archangel.

Doesn't that go for anything though?
Not really because manga, for example, usually only has one writer. Of course, that's no guarantee of absolute consistency, but that problem is way worse when there's dozen of writers and dozen of intersecting plots from dozen of titles over the years like there is in american comics.

Which is exactly why I'm generally not as big on US comic books (despite liking a lot of the characters) as I am in comparison to manga. Different authors and artists are always coming and going, so you never know when something is going to be developed only to go somewhere else when a different person takes over, or just thrown out entirely in favor of a wide reboot. That and there's always a lot of different separate storylines for any given series. Manga tends to be a lot more linear in this regard - sure, DB now has SD, and if you want to go in the non-manga route there's opposing storylines with GT and Online too, and then there's things like the goofier Gurren Lagann side-manga and Haruhi-chan - but in general it's just a handful of 'spinoffs' if any at all. Much easier to try and keep track of.

Well, lack of consistency in terms of continuity is one thing, but the stories can still be good, and the different takes on the characters can be quite interesting. (eg, Nolan's, Snyder's, Miller's, Loeb's take on Batman)

Well, it's the switching of artists from run to run on a single series that gets to me too. I get why it's done that way, but...eh, I just prefer when the art remains consistent throughout a story. There are some comics I want to get the omnibuses for though, mainly various TMNT series and Hellboy. I did pick up 'Jurassic Park: Redemption, Vol. 1' cheap recently too though, so that could be where I'm a little soured at the moment. That..art...*shudders*

Unlike Manga, comics have an infinite middle. Dragon Ball is one story with a beginning, middle, and end.

I was told a week ago that I should't correct people about "Bills" name being Beerus because it doesn't matter and it's Japanese so "who cares".
I find it hilarious (and sad) when I see people proclaiming themselves to be "hardcore" or "true" fans yet insist on using a fansub translation of a character name and flat out ignore the official English translation of it.
In the latin american dub of the BoG movie he was called Bills instead of Beerus, so fans around here just call him that regardless of the official name.

a)
The reason the fans argue is because of Plot-armor.

basically the lack of dragon ball like magical devices for superheroes to abuse and counter death in comics creates a situation where A character with X durability survives Y attack which exceeds their durability.

in The Heart of the monster Arc, A situation like Dragon Balls is created in the form of Machine used on Wishing Well.
World Breaker Hulk, the strongest he has ever been, makes a wish which boosts him(may be) and his opponents to fight for eternity in dark dimension and as soon as they die they start again.

During the process hulk too dies due to the destruction of planet their fight causes.

Yet I have seen hulk fans makes an argument he can regen from a drop of blood. He can withstand the end of universe and more nonsense.

b)
Also the Base Goku and Frieza Argument is because Akira Toriyama didn't quite researched his manga pretty well.

based on SSJ1 Multiplier of 50 x Base , the base has to get stronger.

Fan or supporters of either argument are left to debate due more inconsistency being introduced.

This is what someone on youtube wrote about Kais dubbing.
"People always say Kai is more accurate to the manga, but honestly, who the fuck cares? It's not like the original Funimation dub changed the whole damns story. Original Funi had better lines and funnier moments. Plus in Kai, everyone sounds pompous. Sorry but Kai is fail. Ocean is good til the Ginyu Force"

I seriously lost all hope for the Dragon Ball Z fan base on youtube.

It's honestly funny how much Chaospunishment is getting hate because Chaos hates Broly.

It leads into funny comments and hate comments. Funny doesn't always have to be fans who are "ignorant". I hope you guys know that. The thread is FUNNY or ignorant. Not just ignorant.

Hopefully if my career comes as a new dbz series writer among other things my story for Broly may finally make chaos appreciate Broly. After all characters have potential for a good story.

 . No disrespect. But don't DB still use most of the same writers?

Also here's someone fanfiction. Just want to here people's opinions on this.

+Bryan Rolax oh I don't plan to every character needs a spotlight. I had five sagas planned for a series. Namekian God Piccolo, Majin Tarble(Genocide of the Universe), Bardock, Broly ( Broly's Redemption) and Burma ( Saiyan Valkyrie or Iron Maiden) these would be a series after the movie I had planned for Broly. Dragon Ball Z: The Rise of Chaos where Broly turns Super Saiyan Akuma and an epic battle emerges between SSJA Broly and SSJG Gogeta then when the transformations run out a battle between Super Saiyan 3s you can reply to me if you want to know the details of the movie or any of the saga's
