A few of the bad guys had horrible voice acting in Kai. Jheece in the Ginyu Force for example. And I like DBZ Frieza better than Kai Frieza. Other than that, all of the good guys had improved acting.

I know that this is you're opinion but how can you like Freezas old voice better then the new and improved one?

I think Ayres' acting style and characterization of Freeza is too different from Young to actually say he's an improvent. They're almost like two different versions of Freeza, so it really comes down to personal preference when deciding who did a better job.

When I hear the current Frieza powering up and yelling, it's cringe-worthy. Plus it sounds like an 80 year old lady acting Frieza.

This complaint about Ayres always baffles me. I think his performance was the exact opposite. I mean, this is literally what makes Linda Young's performance as Freeza despised by so many people.

Yeah, that's one absurd opinion. Chris Ayres was possibly the greatest improvement about Kai's English cast. How on earth you can think he sounds like an old lady is beyond me. You understand that's what people say about the previous VAs for the character?

I'll just say then that both of Frieza's voices could be better.

I do like how the new Frieza constructs his sentences though. He's a little smarter sounding in Kai. Just the power up scenes, meh.. :D

Chris Ayres sounding like an eighty year old lady? :eh:

Dameon Clarke takes the cake for the best of the FUNimation Kai dub but Chris Ayres is a solid second place and Chris Sabat made the effort of making his characters sounding different (while still noticeable that it's the same VA voicing them). There's pros and cons about the FUNimation Kai dub (not "The Kai Dub").
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

Huh? No more so than any other actor who powers up.

Maybe because Chris' voice is already higher and more effeminate than most men, and is even higher for Frieza, so it sounds less 'manly' when he screams?

Freeza's not exactly a butch character, so Ayers' voice fits.

Oh I agree, but maybe the whineyness to his voice is what sounds old or constipated to some people?

I don't really care much for english kai but Chris Ayres is definitely worth a watch as freeza.

I'd have liked to have heard Dameon Clarke play Freeza but to be honest, Dameon Clarke is too perfect for Freeza so perhaps it was for the best to only voice Cell.

I'd like to watch Kai myself but I just know it won't be as good without the Faulconer score. I know the Kai music is much better than the original soundtrack but from what I've heard it's still nowhere as good.

It's a shame they didn't give Kai the Faulconer score for the US version.

Why? You got a version with it, it's only right to have a version without it, and not one with the original music tacked on as an afterthought.
