Thanks a lot,This is more then enough for me to say which is better and personally the blu-set is better in both quality and coloring.

The rest of your post is interesting but what you pointed out isn't something that effects my watching experience so I can look past those flaws.

Kai does have a better widescreen transfer and will have a better dub but that's not enough for me to be able to look past it's wired editing,Blurry picture,Green tint,Manga scene removal and censored violence.
Why does Kai have less of a green tint in the Gotenks picture? Hmm, weird I would probably chose Kai then... and Sintzu when does Kai have blurry picture?

I think I now why Toei has made the Buu arc 69 episodes long. When you really think about it, the original Kai didn't cut as much as we think. In DBZ, the Saiyan to Cell arc is 194 episodes long, but we also have a filler arc, plus a lot of filler episodes. I counted the amount of episodes Kai has used from the original DBZ, and there were 174 episodes, with scenes from some filler episodes included. So if we also remove those episode off the list, you get like 150-160 episodes.

So let's say we take 155 episodes and divide them with the 98 episodes of the original Kai, you get a average of 1,58 Z episodes per Kai episode. Whereas the Buu arc goes with a average of 1,33 Z episodes per Kai episode.

And yes, the Buu arc still retained a lot more filler than the original Kai, but I guess they were also still trying to match the original Kai's pacing. At least that's my theory.

Less than the Japanese from what I've seen.

Here's another interesting difference between the Japanese and the international versions.

So all those scenes with Super Buu are not corrected in our version. That kinda sucks.... :?

It looks like Gotenks pissed all over his pants on the Kai 2.0 screenshot while the Season shot's a waterpaint.

^ Because the Japanese version has more care put into it, it doesn't feel surprising.
They will do things such as recoloring stuff, putting various endings, having a much better opening, having a serious recap music, etc... that they didn't bother doing for the international version.

By the way, as of yet, still no Let It Burn for the international version.
Yep, still the same opening (unsurprising) and ending (more surprising - why still show Babidi, Dabra and Mister Boo when none of them is relevant anymore at this point of the story?)
Emergency: new ending required! It's as if they were showing the Ginyu Commando in the ending while Goku and others are facing Freezer himself in the actual episodes!

This is actually exactly what happened in Kai. The ending even had Raditz & Nappa in it.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

^ But it did go all the way to showing Freezer (as a shadow) and more importantly Super Saiyan Goku which in turns implies Freezer's final fight.
And the second ending didn't even show Cell, so it wasn't shocking seeing it until the end.

But showing the group facing enemies that have long been defeated as the ending climax, that seems out of place.
Plus, we know there is Let It Burn, and there aren't that many events to cover from now on: Gotenks VS Boo, followed by Gohan VS Boo, followed by Vegetto VS Boo, followed by the final fight.
We're in the streak of fights that leads right to the end. What were they waiting for to put the only other sequence named Let It Burn? Waiting for only 10 episodes to remain?

It should have been changed as soon as Boo reached his new form, sealing the fact that precisely half of the saga's content was gone and officially entering the second half with the new ending.
Oh, well... We'll see when they chose to put it, but really, Boo changing form was the perfect occasion to officially switch from "first half of episodes" to "second half - final streak of battles against the real opponent leading to the finale".

I have to say, for the first time in this Series of Kai, I'm disappointed. Not to have the colour correction present like the Japanese version has benefited from, is quite poor. In regards to the opening, I assumed that it would evolve like the first iteration did at least.
"Let it Burn" could be the soundtrack they use for the final few episodes.

I know they won't (as they can't) but I live in the slimmest of hopes FUNimation are somehow able to acquire the Japanese version (I don't care about the 7 less episodes), just the colour corrected footage.

Geez, I would've expected the song to show up by now. And no color correction on the eyes? Would've been nice to have, but it doesn't bother me more than in the original.

Am I the only one left who doesn't hate this thing now?

^ I don't hate it at all, but some stuff like that is just annoying.
I get that they won't spend too much time and money on it, but some things just seem mandatory even when you do the very minimum required: like not leaving Videl and Mister Satan to be the eyecatch for God-knows-how-many episodes that have much more relevant events going on, or keeping the same opening/ending animation when the climax of it is not relevant anymore.

It's as if young Goku was facing Piccolo and the epic ending to those intense episodes were telling you "oooh, watch out, because Goku will soon meet and face the very dangerous Pilaf for the first time!"
You're just like: "guys, just like the opening supposedly gets you pumped up for the episode, the ending is supposed to keep you up for the next one, so please focus on the current or upcoming threat, don't epicly announce problems that have been solved weeks ago".

^Yep, gotta agree with you on the eyecatchers and ending, though. Overall, I share the sentiments of many nitpicks here. I just don't let it bug me as much, knowing that we'll be getting a new dub to go with this. Although, to be honest, I was hoping that'd be announced by the end of the year. Unless they announce tomorrow, that isn't happening.

You just explained how the openings and endings of the series worked in many countries during the original series

And also how Detekoi Tobikiri Zenkai Power worked in Japan.

I don't think they will get that since it was made just for Fuji TV. If funimation gets it then the rest of the countries would but they have the international version instead. So besides japan that version will probably never air in the US
