Congrats...1000 on a webcomic that's kinda been mediocre in story for the longest time but has had the best artwork....eh not worth much. Congratulations I guess.KentalSSJ6 wrote:This will forever be mine.miguelnuva1 wrote:Darn't it you beat me to it.KentalSSJ6 wrote:And now we have come to page 1000.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Congratulations for 1000 pages! I think this is the longest thread on the entire forum. I was looking at the other sections and the only other thread I could find with over 900 pages was the Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods". The third longest I could find was The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread with 764. It's funny that probably over half of these pages were filled with repeat complaints from people who kept coming back anyway
.

It's ironic sure, but still, as threads go, still groundbreaking.Skar wrote:Congratulations for 1000 pages! I think this is the longest thread on the entire forum. Never a moment wasted not criticizing the comic. Perhaps that's why the thread is so long.dbzfan7 wrote:

I want to take part in this iconic moment and get a comment on the 1000th page but I swear I'd better not get bumped to page 1001.

Wonder what Boo has in mind for Kakarot there...also, his 'rules' and the actual rules are probably going to be very, very different, all things considered.
And sweet, 1,000 pages!

YEEEEEUUUUP. Though right now all I've got is praise for what's going on now. Finally things are interesting again. I have nothing bad to say about this chapter so far.rereboy wrote:Never a moment wasted not criticizing the comic. Perhaps that's why the thread is so long.dbzfan7 wrote:

I get some enjoyment no matter what. If things get dumb and stupid I get a laugh at how dumb and stupid things these people thought were good. If it's good I get to enjoy a good thing and believe the story is more competent. I can say the comic keeps me entertained when it does some cool, funny, or memorable things, or when it's so dumb it's terrible.Skar wrote:Congratulations for 1000 pages! Hah, thought we were talking about 1,000 pages of the comic, not the thread.
So that's a thing. Congrats on drawing enough criticism to fill 1,000 pages!

Yay mediocre webcomics where Saligir is making Bra be ultra powerful for no reason and making really boring specials. The art is nice, but fuck some of the story. The specials just fucking suck too. Like, yeesh. Salagir has a cool concept but it doing it all wrong.

Bra is as strong as she is because she is VEGETTO'S daughter, not Vegeta's.ShadowDude112 wrote:Yay mediocre webcomics where Saligir is making Bra be ultra powerful for no reason and making really boring specials. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Yeah it's not perfect but in my opinion it's still the best overall Dragonball fan comic. The only other long-running fan comic was the legendary Little Saiyalings. The rest are either GT-sequels that follow the same basic formula or side-stories that last less than a 100 pages if they finish and aren't discontinued. If you're not a fan of GT then DBM is the only ongoing fan comic to choose from. I just think people should be a little more appreciative. I've seen some authors whine and think about quitting after a few mean reviews while DBM gets the harshest criticism out of any fan comic and still moving along as scheduled.dbzfan7 wrote:I get some enjoyment no matter what. That's another good thing about DBM. It actually has a schedule. Even if the specials are bad most of the time we at least know when the next main chapter is coming. In other fan comics we're just hoping the next page comes out within the next few weeks and that there isn't a sudden announcement that the story will be on a hiatus or cancelled.
Well the comic is currently on page 990 so we're almost thereSaiga wrote:Hah, thought we were talking about 1,000 pages of the comic, not the thread.

Congrats on 1000. I actually skip the stupid boring stuff. Keeps me from talking too badly about it. Lastly this isn't the only manga of Db with a schedule.

So ultra powerful for an immensely stupid reason rather than no reason.KentalSSJ6 wrote:Bra is as strong as she is because she is VEGETTO'S daughter, not Vegeta's.ShadowDude112 wrote:Yay mediocre webcomics where Saligir is making Bra be ultra powerful for no reason and making really boring specials. Gohan
Goten
Pan(?)
Oob
Piccolo Jr
Trunks
VEGETA
Was the exact same way. There's no reason to call it stupid unless you think it was stupid in the DB manga as well.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Gohan, Goten, and Trunks are hybrids and were said to gain their power from that. Oob doesn't apply, he's a reincarnation and it's unknown if his potential even goes beyond Pure Boo. Piccolo Jr's another reincarnation, and a Warrior-type. So that kind of just leaves Vegeta, who honestly wasn't that much more powerful than his dad before abusing Zenkai.TheGmGoken wrote:

Said saying Vegetto's a strong guy so his daughter would be proportionally strong ignores that he's a magical fusion and Bra isn't.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I think the logic is that Goku wasn't so strong when he had Gohan, and then Gohan started out weak(ish)--he would've been truly weak if not for the rage boosts, but his potential coming out in sudden bursts like that made him able to keep up. Compare to Goten and Trunks, who were conceived after their fathers were in the millions and had Super Saiyan... at age 7 they're already hovering somewhere vaguely in the mid-Cell Saga range of power without any real training and went Super Saiyan through no effort whatsoever.
DBM's Universe 16 Bra is basically just a Goten/Trunks-style "super strong from birth" half-Saiyan (cranked up to a higher level of power because of how powerful her father was in comparison to Goku/Vegeta) with Gohan-style super-potential and bursts of uncontrollable rage stacked on top of that.
Maybe the degree of her power is a bit excessive, but the fact that she was born absurdly strong and easily outclasses any of the other hybrid Saiyans after training should come as no surprise considering that her origins are basically the next level up of the same pattern of increasingly stronger-at-birth half-Saiyan kids that the manga/anime has already established as "how things work."
