They're the French deluxe manga boxes. Each box contains two volumes.

Most of these are for my 4year old kid and some I got from friends.
I have many toys, but he can't play with those haha.

Great pickup man, I love owning the full series myself, knowing I always have access to an official copy of all the episodes and movies. (I own a different set from funimation though) Good feeling working on completing that collection, isn't it?

Wow the DB Saga Sets look really nice but even still, the R4 card-board boxes are a lot more appealing for collectors, though unfortunately they're out of print so it's kinda hard to get them anyway.

The v2.0 of the R4 Saga Sets are in two fat-packs and to be frank, it's my favourite packaging for it. :P
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

So I finally get to post something.

Image

I'm not a figure person, but I see Barnes and Noble selling this for $35 and I bit. Great price and no visible joints... which is the lesser reason I'm normally not a figure person, I don't want my stuff looking cheaper than it is. Petty.

Also... so I could have this going down on my shelf. Because one of my fraternity brothers is a wonderful person who saw an opportunity visiting family in Japan.

Got it today!

Pics:
For £10/$15 it wasn't a bad deal, hell, the discs are all in excellent condition (better than the ones I bought brand new factory sealed) and so's the book too! Just the slipcover's damaged but oh well. I'll be keeping it to have 2 RtDs as they're quite cool to own.

If it wasn't for the fact that it came in a crappy jiffy bag the slipcover probably would have been in very good shape too.

Heh, if I find any more RtDs for such a great price I'll be buying them too. ^_^

^Where you were able to find the Madman Saga of Goku set? I've looked around and can't find it anywhere.

It's a collected volume of one-shots that were written by Toriyama, but drawn by his friend and fellow manga author, Masakazu Katsura (known for Video Girl Ai, I"s, Zetman, character designer of Tiger & Bunny, etc.). It has their 'Sachie-chan Go!' one-shot, and the sort-of follow up 'Jiya' three-part manga, as well as interviews (I think it kept those?) with the two of them.

As for how it's Dragon Ball related beyond having Toriyama pen the story, well...nothing for certain, but the Galactic Patrol thing from Jaco at least seems plausible to be the same space police force we see in Jiya, and the king alien from the end of Dragon Ball Minus looks exactly like one of the aliens from Sachie-chan...so...that's a thing.

WOW, I actually strongly prefer Toriyama's artwork for Sachie-chan and Jiya to Katsura's.

I really wish this and his other one-shot manga would get released in English. He's so popular, so why not cash in on the name? :?

It's already been confirmed that it's the same Galactic Patrol. There's even a deluxe edition that reprints both Jaco and the other Akira Katsura (their pen name for the collaborations) works in one big volume.

That would be news to me. I own both books separately, but there is no combined edition, to my knowledge.

The idea that all three works comprise single a "Galactic Patrol series" comes from a comment by Toriyama in the interview in the back of Katsura Akira. (And indeed, he started working on Jaco while he was writing Jiya...)
