Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Meh. Freeza can handle up to like 70% of his power before he starts showing the strain (if this Freeza even needs to buff up for 100%), and who knows where Goku's own power is resting at right now either. Maybe he was back down at 5,000 before jumping into the ring.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This Freeza has been stated before to have managed to control effectively his final form, which is why he is always in his final form. We don't even know if he needs to bulk up to go 100% anymore.

rereboy wrote:Why not? DBM has base Goku being weaker than Freeza. And in DBM's backstory for Freeza and his species, their home planet is at 100G, so 1000G for Freeza is like 10G for a Earthling.
I understand, but it doesn't seem really logical to me.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Remember Salagir has his general tier system. If Freeza is still an Super Saiyan level opponent, then he should probably be able to tolerate the gravity better than Goku until he transforms.
Freeza's accustomed to 100G, and he's so strong that he can handle a ten times higher gravity, but Goku trained with King Kai, in the spaceship while going to Namek, and then spent several years in the Otherworld under the Kais, using both weights and higher-than-normal gravity. I don't find it logical that "present day" Goku, after all the training he's had (and Freeza hasn't) and defeating Majin Buu, has more trouble than Freeza when it comes to gravity.
Also, I'm not really a fan of how much the fandom depends on power levels when it comes to comparing characters (what I call "Dragon Ball math"): there are many more important factors than wibbly-wobbly numbers which stopped being used halfway through the manga. Transforming makes him a lot stronger, that's for sure, but I like to think that the ability to resist strain doesn't have to be linked to transforming (or at least, not entirely).
But hey, that's just my two cents on the subject. If everyone had the same opinions, the fanbase would be pretty boring

The Goku that got used to 100G ended up with a power level of 90.000 and final form Freeza has more than 100.000.000 in power. Its a big difference.UltimateHammerBro wrote: I understand, but it doesn't seem really logical to me.

Anyway, nowadays, Goku in base could be something like 70.000.000, which would make his SSJ1 be 3.500.000.000, his SSJ2 7.000.000.000 and his SSJ3 28.000.000.000. That means that Goku can easily be quite inferior to Freeza in base (and thus have more trouble than him in 1000G, especially if he is not used to it) and still be a monster compared to Freeza with his SSJ forms, so I have no problem with this scenario.

Imagine if a 20 lb. weight just instantly materialized in your hand. Just because someone is strong enough to do something doesn't mean they're in a position to do it all the time. Readiness is a huge part of it. Goku isn't weak. He's just stupid.

Salgrir himeslf said that Goku fell because he was caught off guard by the sudden gravity change. Thought it was pretty obvious.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I hope that Freeza will go to his fifth or sixth form, as granted to him by Buu, which will actually be stronger than Goku's SS form. In response, Goku will go SS2 and one-shot him. It fits Nappa's comment about Freeza never being able to land a hit, and continues the pattern of Goku's dirt easy victories. He faced off against that random saiyan and one-shotted him in base. He faced off against 17 and one-shotted him in Super Saiyan. Now he'll one-shot Freeza in SS2.
That's what I'm hoping, anyway. I have no real interest in seeing an actual fight between these two after 20 chapters and 19 episodes that consisted of almost nothing but them fighting.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Agreed. It's good to see that Full-Power Super Saiyan hasn't been shafted.Scarz wrote:Goku's face in that last panel... oh god... I can't handle this, it's too good!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Goku vs Freeza is when I first got into Dragon Ball, so this hits me right in the childhood. Even though the battle lasted who knows how many episodes, I was still super excited the first time I sat through that. I mean, the planet was going to explode any second!
Anyway, I just hope it'll be a good fight, because I love these characters.

I actually think he would look more in-character with a bit more of a frown on his face. Like a real Saiyan who's going to enjoy what's next. In that panel he doesn't look like he's about to go into a fight.
More like this:

Frieza is spot on though.

Probably because all things considered its not going to be much of a fight, at least to Goku's knowledge. He one shotted a dude in a League above Frieza last round, to him this is merely a fun time to let loose a bit.Marco Polo wrote:I actually think he would look more in-character with a bit more of a frown on his face. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don't think Buu's "gift" will end up being something as lame and predictable as a form power-up. More likely, it will be a hax magic trick or ability, like what XXL used against Vegetto. The fake memory explicitly mentions a wizard, after all.
