Cardcaptor Sakura remaster and DB franchise
I hope, that if Toei will ever release Dragon Ball on Blu-Ray, they will hire same company that did remastering of Cardcaptor Sakura, in my opinion, both Kai 1.0 and 2.0 lok pretty bad, 1.0 suffers from blurry image, and 2.0 have greenish tint. With CCS, while there is little bit of grain, colors look very vibrant and pleasant to eyes http://postimg.org/gallery/1cjlqd2b2/df1a27d2/ (From Boxset by Nis America, screenshots taken by print screen on Leawo Blu-Ray Player)

Will it cost "too" much money for an "old license" on Toei's behalf, because if so, you can forget that ever happening.

Isn't Kai already considered Toei's attempt at a HD remaster of Z?

No, you're mistaking Kai with the Dragon Boxes. Kai is another one of Toei's attempt on cashing in on the license without putting any damn effort into it. Nothing about DB Kai is truly HD except for the redrawn scenes and animation for the intro, ending and eycatchers.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Isn't Kai already considered Toei's attempt at a HD remaster of Z?

How is 16mm scanned in and presented at 1440x1080 not 'truly HD'?Lord Beerus wrote: Nothing about DB Kai is truly HD except for the redrawn scenes and animation for the intro, ending and eycatchers.
I don't see how your perception of clarity changes the definition of 'high definition'.
You make it sound like everything has to be digital to be truly HD.

Considering the number of people who quite literally believe that, it's not exactly shocking.AjayLikesGaming wrote:You make it sound like everything has to be digital to be truly HD.

As someone who's even more obsessed with Cardcaptor Sakura than I am with Dragon Ball, I would absolutely love to see that happen, but, unfortunately, I have zero belief that it will ever happen...

Personally, I'm fine with how CCS looks right now, and would really love to see DB getting this type of remaster, but, i imagine it would be really expensive to do over 500 episodes.

In all fairness they did soften up the picture quite a bit. I hardly notice a difference between SD and HD Kai; by comparison, there's a huge difference between the Level sets and the Dragon Box that - taking different colors and occasional crushed blacks out of the equation - is like night and day.AjayLikesGaming wrote:How is 16mm scanned in and presented at 1440x1080 not 'truly HD'?Lord Beerus wrote: Nothing about DB Kai is truly HD except for the redrawn scenes and animation for the intro, ending and eycatchers.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Doing something in HD but making it look like shit is still HD.bkev wrote:In all fairness they did soften up the picture quite a bit.
