Freeza wanted to rule the universe, not destroy it. Gods don't care about what mortals rule other mortals.Kakarot9001 wrote:Good point, the Kaioshins didn't care for Freeza... I never knew why, thoughMarco Polo wrote:If Freeza isn't a universal threat then surely Cell isn't either.

They didn't feel like a threat to them. Freeza wanted to rule the Universe. He was not blowing things up like Buu was.Kakarot9001 wrote:Good point, the Kaioshins didn't care for Freeza... I never knew why, thoughMarco Polo wrote:If Freeza isn't a universal threat then surely Cell isn't either.

We all know how this will turn out. Super Buu would stop them and ends up absorbing them both.

Interesting, I wonder how he would absorb Gohan and the others again.

Art's relatively decent at least, so that's a good thing.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Suggested dialogue improvements:
"You are even smaller than fleas, you know that?" -> "Don't you know you're even smaller than fleas?"
Notes: This change would make Buu's statement sound more like a taunt, which I'm guessing is what the writer intends.
"We will need to find an exit after having you neutralized" -> "We'll need to find an exit after neutralizing you"
Notes: Eliminates the passive voice, though the dialogue itself remains rather bland, pretty much stating the obvious.
"You cannot do it... you will be killed in here" -> "You cannot beat me... you will die in here"
Note: Again, passive voice simply doesn't sound good in English. Also, I replaced "do it" with "beat me" to sound a little more colorful, though the line remains pretty run-of-the-mill.
Vegeta's dialogue is fine.

Ugh. Hasn't this Super Buu What-If scenario already been explored?
Not saying it's bad, but I wish DB Multiverse would cut down on the endless specials for other characters that ultimately don't do much to change the main story.

Back to the Freeza thing, the Kaio-Shin were all stronger than Freeza, he says so when they're flying to Bobbidi's ship. They were aware of his existence, but never needed to interfere. Like someone said earlier, he wasn't destroying planets indiscriminately and upsetting the balance of creation/destruction, he was a businessman! Cell wasn't around for very long in the grand scheme of things, I doubt they even noticed him.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
But then the Kais interacted personally with Bojack. You could say that Bojack was upsetting the balance of creation/destruction, but it was stated he was nothing more than a space pirate, and at the end of the Bojack wins special, Yemma won't allow intervention because they will effectively rule the universe(which is what Freeza chose to do, and apparently, was not what they were doing before): Does being sealed in a planet for a couple eons make you change your mind about life? Or did Toei not think things through when they created a villain with Freeza's aspirations and Cell's strength?CordonBloo wrote:Back to the Freeza thing, the Kaio-Shin were all stronger than Freeza, he says so when they're flying to Bobbidi's ship. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
You know I brought up this at the end of the U8 Special: The special makes it sound like that without Vegeta, everyone was doomed on Namek, when really it all came down to timing at the end. Same thing here, Buu just happened to be a second faster in this universe, the change all came down to timing.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I just hope we get an actual SS3 Goku vs base Super Buu "fight". That'd be a curb-stomp I'd like to see.
In the manga, he tried to jump at Vegeta to stop him, but since Toriyama never keeps speed feats consistent, Vegeta reacts faster than him and pulls the pod. In this, he can just grab Vegeta with a pair of arms from the ground without actually getting near him. I don't know why he didn't do this in the main universe if he always could.FoolsGil wrote:You know I brought up this at the end of the U8 Special: The special makes it sound like that without Vegeta, everyone was doomed on Namek, when really it all came down to timing at the end. Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Simply because he didn't thought of it in time or because he panicked.RandomGuy96 wrote: In the manga, he tried to jump at Vegeta to stop him, but since Toriyama never keeps speed feats consistent, Vegeta reacts faster than him and pulls the pod. Its like in real life when someone says something and we want to retort to what that person says, but we can't think of anything quickly. Its not that we are incapable of coming up with something or reacting that fast, its just in that moment, for some reason, we weren't able to. And other times we are.

I really don't like the next pages of this special. Too much power inconsistency, imo.
