Just (kinda) caught up with this.

I LOVED Kai episodes 1-98, the pacing, the Yamamoto music, the new dub and how it looked, it's my definitive version for watching the Saiyan/Freeza/Android arcs.

But from what I've been reading, the Buu arc has bad 'remastering', the footage has a green tint, music is bad, and everything is cropped. To think I was so excited for this :|

Funimation should just redub the Z Buu arc and just release that as Kai tbh

I do like this drawing. It looks epic  I hate the shiny 'new style' animation, but Gohan looks cool here.

Also is there an episode guide for the international version? I heard the Great Saiyaman/Tournament filler was badly cut and the episodes looked rushed and butchered, but that it was fixed for the international version.

^As for things getting "fixed" it's actually the other way around. They butchered Saiyaman and World Tournament for the Japanese version. The International IS the original.

Oh, that makes sense I guess. :P

Man, had they continued with the Buu arc right after Cell was done, it probably would've been 4:3 and with the same good-looking remastering as the prior episodes.

True but in terms of the number episodes it probably would have been the same or close to what we have now.

It's quite shocking how the ending has not been changed yet.
Gohan is facing Boo, and the international ending still shows everyone ready to face Babidi, Dabra and Fat Boo.

It is possible Let It Burn is not a new opening or ending, but merely an insert song (perhaps for the final scene?), and it is also possible that it was recorded and secured but never used in the end.

Funimation is going to talk about the future of the series next week :

I think they're finally going to announce Kai.

^FINALLY! It's possible they'll announce both at this event. They may do the same thing Japan is doing, have them both at the same time.

Fingers crossed they'll finally announce "The Final Chapters". Not so sure about "Fukkatsu no F", though they may mention it at least.

It's probably going to be The Final Chapters. I think Funimation would be finished with Kai as of now since we know that Sean Schemmel has been recording since April 2013. So I'm certain Funimation wants to cross Kai of their list so that they can move on with Fukkatsu no F.

Picture above taken from Funimation's booth at SXSW. If you look past Elijah Wood, you can just about see Goku, with the background being the Supreme World of the Kais.

I'd say this is looking highly likely to be an announcement for "The Final Chapters" tomorrow.

While I do think a Final Chapters announcement is likely, I don't think the picture in the banner holds any significance towards it. Looks like they just chose a standard pic to put up with the other series.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the Dragon Ball Z announcements will feature ROF in some fashion.

At 2:15 PM is when they'll start talking about DBZ in general. I have no clue which of the time zones this is in, though. It's already 2:30 PM here.

The event is taking place in Austin, Texas, and according to my Googling, it's about 8:40 AM there now, so a bit under 6 hours, I guess?

This should start in less than 15 minutes now right? Is there any kind of live stream of the event or some live update twitter feed? Or maybe someone from here is actually there right now. If so, posting any Kai-related news would be greatly appreciated

With today's announcement being the acquisition of Resurrection "F" in US cinemas, where is Kai?. I'm surprised FUNi didn't announce it today.

Maybe they have to wait till Japan are done airing it.

I think they should release it starting in the summer to get a sales boost from the new movie.
