Very excited to be getting "F" so soon but, seriously? Still nothing about Kai?! :(

I'm ecstatic that we're getting RoF this soon, but no Kai is disappointing. It seems to be a saga in itself...

I know it's disappointing but getting F announced is more then enough for me cause unlike Kai which we know will be out sometime this year,we thought we were going to have to wait till summer/fall of next year to see it but instead we're getting it this year which is GREAT.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Maybe they are waiting for Adult Swim to catch up to the Buu Saga? That is really the only thing I can think of. Or they just want to wait for some reason.

Maybe they want to have a steady stream of Dragonball news and not just announce everything all at once so that the hype can continue to build.

Also, Kai 1.0 was announced in February 2010 right? This was 2 months before the Japanese broadcast finished right? So if we're looking at Kai 2.0 finishing in Japan in July, then maybe Funi will announce it in May for a Fall 2015 start.

If I had to put my money down on a reason for its delay, this would be it. I don't know that I 100% believe this, but it's the most logical explanation I have yet to hear.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Today is a great one to be an English DBZ fan!. RoF getting a dub release this year is a real bonus, and one I never saw coming. FUNi have really upped their game this time.

The Kai situation is a little odd, but I see why they would want the RoF announcement first - it's the more attractive, and in demand product at present.
They probably don't want to announce everything in one go.

The Japanese broadcast of Kai 1.0 ended in 2011.

How far is the Adult Swim broadcast up to? Episode 15? If they air 1 episode a week, it'll take forever at that pace to catch up.

If they continue at the current pace, it wouldn't get there until Fall of 2017. Personally, I don't see any relation there. One Piece is WAY behind on Adult Swim compared to DVD and even the first Kai is only airing there long after being completed.

If there's no announcement before the Japanese broadcast ends, I will be convinced that the ship has sailed and the Funi dub has been canceled.

There's no way. It wouldnt make any sense. Sean Schemmel said it was happening before he had to retract his statement. Same with Kyle Hebert I'm pretty sure. Christopher Sabat had said way back even mentioning the episode count. And in the Battle of Gods extras thing when Christopher is directing Kyle, he mentions how they had him tone down Gohan for Kai but they wanted him to amp it up for BoG. Kyle only of course plays as the adult version of Gohan so he couldnt have been talking about before the Buu saga. Plus i mean the whole thing again was originally to please the international audience and Funi has the biggest viewership by far i would imagine.

Yeah, it would make zero sense for FUNi to not release their dub. We've already seen The Final Chapters making it's way out elsewhere, and to not have FUNi release their's would mean that TOEI would be missing out on a huge chunk of the money that they originally made The Final Chapters for in the first place. As for what the hold-up is: only FUNi knows at this point.

This all being said, as EXTREMELY happy as its made me to see us get the new movie this summer ( i was betting on late 2016), its still disappointing in its own right that we still have no news on this front.

Nah, just a little less than two years.

Was just looking at some of the original anime, man i pray to kami that they completely omit the last half of episode 287 and all of 288. Thats a full 1 1/2 episodes of pure filler. On top of all of the inner Super Buu material, what else if anything do you think will be cut? Arent we at like 8 episodes or so of guaranteed cut at this point?

Well, the next episode preview for 145 pretty much confirms SSJ2 Goku and Vegeta vs "Buuhan" is here to stay.

I do expect base Vegetto vs "Buuhan" and SSJ2 Goku vs Pure Boo to be edited down a bit, but not removed. Toei's editing method for The Final Chapters is too lax for that. I have always found the former fight to be a stretch from a power scaling standpoint (contrary to what the Elder Kaioshin says). While I think the latter fight has some good action, its existence doesn't make much sense from a story standpoint. Goku should already know SSJ2 will be useless.

Ok a little oblivious here. Kai 1.0 is related to the kai parts and 2.0 are the kai season sets?

No, 'Kai 2.0' refers to the Majin Buu arc, which is running from 2014-2015.

Gotcha, learn something new every day . I just purchased all of the Kai parts, I noticed it only goes up to Cell so will I be out of luck for the part 9 to be out or be patient?

Its probably gonna go back to part one since 2.0 is considered a separate series. Basically the final chapters goes all the way back to episode 1
