What if the divergence is no SSJ3? Let's say that Goku didn't die to Cell. That Gohan (for some reason) decided to kill Cell when he had the chance. Goku would never have learned fusion or SSJ3. Thus he couldn't stop fat Buu, and the kids couldn't do fusion.

Don't know if Babidi would even get the chance to revive him, the reason Vegeta was so anxious to get all this crap over with in the manga is because Goku's time on Earth is finite. If he losses this chance to fight and beat him now, he'll never get another so he became Majin. If Goku was alive, Vegeta's desire to fight would still be present, however, as Goku is alive there Vegeta could challenge him whenever he felt like it. No Majin Vegeta means no revived Buu.

I think Majin Vegeta would still come to be, if Vegeta challenges Goku to a fight, and Goku soundly beats him. And Vegeta has the rest of the 7 year gap until the Buu Saga stewing over the fact he lost to Goku not once but twice. I could see Babidi sensing that and taking advantage.

Guess it's over, Kibitokai probably gonna escape, he was one shotted by Super Buu+ Regular Vegeta, so he won't stand a chance against Gohan Buu

Makes you wonder if he'll spare Mr. Satan due to Fat Buu's influence. Also, I wonder how he keeps all the people he's absorbed packed together without getting his head too stuffed. XD

He could absorb him (Zen Buu doesn't consider the people he absorbs dead).

IRC the novelization states Buu kept the Earth and Mr. Stan alive. I think he'll see the guy, recall the good times they had, then spare him and Earth. uu didn't absorb everything in his universe, just the things he considered interesting or unique (warriors, scientists, magicians, etc...). If he absorbed everything no way Vegito could touch him IMO.

Well, they're not.

They are eventually. See the Southern Kaioshin and the Dai Kaioshin.

Well, when South Kaioshin went inside Fat Buu, rest Kaioshins were already part of Buu, maybe after awhile, Goku and company will also become inseperatable?

Does anyone else kind of wish that THIS was what happened in the actual Manga? Except, Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks get thrown out by Goku's explosion, and manage to wake up? I mean this fight is awesome, Buugeta seems like a nice imposing villain, and what we have here is one of the darkest, saddest moments in the franchise as Goku is unable to do anything to defend himself.

So we'd also have some pathos with both Gohan and Gotenks as they realize how dearly their arrogance has cost them. And then after that, we would get another awesome fight between Gohan and Gotenks vs. Gobuu/Buuku, one that wouldn't be nearly as lopsided as Gohan's other fights with Buu. Or maybe it'd just be Gohan vs. Gobuu/Buuku since Gotenks probably wouldn't be quite up to the task, and would likely just get absorbed again.

EDIT: And most importantly, it wouldn't require everyone to hold the idiot ball in the final battle.

While it would be awesome, Goten and Trunks dealt with their parent death, and they were still cocky, so i doubt Goku/Vegeta absorption would make them wiser.

That could be a poignant moment in itself though, as Gohan realizes that they're too immature for this fight, and knocks them out before marching out to fight Gobuu/Buuku alone.

Then when the two kids plead for Kibitoshin to bring them to the fight, they get a stern talking to from Piccolo about how badly they messed up, and and all that stuff, and are made to acknowledge their mistakes and promise not to repeat them before they're allowed to go anywhere. So then with that new understanding, Gotenks goes out to help Gohan, and then, as brother and brother, they work together to finally defeat Buu

...

EDIT: Or heck, perhaps even make it so that Gotenks DOES seem just as cocky as before, seems to get absorbed...but then puts up a barrier just like Vegito did before going to try to rescue everyone, starting a two part battle as Buuku starts fighting him in addition to Gohan.

Buu is likely going to wish back everyone and absorb them. I doubt Zen Buu is as powerful as he is just for having Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, Piccolo and Trunks.

Buu leaves Earth and goes around absorbing others in the universe. If who he has now isn't getting him near Vegito, Kuririn and the others aren't going to do it either.

He can still absorb Cell and Dabra. It'd still be a somewhat significant boost. As well as movie villains if they count.
