Well, they're not... But what we can do about it? I'm just trying to get used to
I don't like SSJGSSJ like SSJ, but at least Toriyama fixed SSJ powerup dilemma.

And when Goku starts to fight Freeza you see Sorbet then a big explosion without seen Goku and Freeza charging to each other.
Maybe we get more scenes in the DVD release

Not sure if its me or if its the angle, but Vegeta's hairline looks like its receding in the first image.
Yeah, I notice that too. Still, I can't believe how much I'm digging SSGSS on these guys.

Alright, just finished watching the Imagine-Nation special on Fukkatsu no F. It's uploading now, but here's some details from what I remember:
The hosts are exceptionally annoying and the narration was very uninformed. At one point he says "Gohan...Goku's only son!" and then later talks about how the last film was drawn "through CG" and this film done by hand. Very strange. I guess it was just poor research by the producers of the show.
That nonsense aside, there was lots of new footage and a load of interesting new tidbits from the staff interviews!
In an interview with Yamamuro, he talks about the attention to detail he put into the martial arts choreography. He breaks down a shot of Piccolo fighting off some of Freeza's men and mentions how his legs would bend in a certain way to accommodate the attacks he was pulling off.
Later, he mentions that Toriyama's screenplay wasn't very descriptive and that, in particular, the mass battle scene simply said "1000 enemies appear with the Z warriors fighting them off" and "this is the greatest battle of all time" with no other detail. It was up to him and his animation team to fill in the details!
Moreover, Yamamuro struggled to visualise Toriyama's idea of hell as the description was so alien to him. He eventually based it on a lake in Austria called "The Green Lake".
The Producer of the film, Horihiro Hayashida, mentioned that the theme of the film was "going back to the source". He revealed that he came up with the idea for bringing back Freeza to fight Goku once again. Strangely, he then talks about how he wanted this film to be all Toriyama.
It was a decent enough watch. I'd love to have seen of these interviews in full as all the narration and parts with the hosts were just awful.
Also, they covered the LA Premiere and you can see Castor Troy in the audience!

Wait, so it wasn't Toriyama's idea? Were we all misinformed all along?
So it was Horihiro Hayashida's idea for Freeza to return and not Toriyama? Interesting.

Hahahaha!
So much for Toriyama putting a lot of detail in the script.

I both would not be surprised and feel better if it did turn out to be the producer's idea instead of Toriyama's.
Well, I guess it's more of I have mixed reactions, because how does this possible producer interference may affect any future film plots?
If he actually said that, I don't think he was supposed to say it. Maybe most of it was TOEI ideas, and they had Toriyama say he did it so fans would accept it and get excited for the movie.

He must have influenced Toriyama saying things like "Hey, you remember that one song about Freeza? That song was great right? Bringing Freeza back is great too".

Haha!! Yeah that was pretty funny. Toriyama weren't kidding when he said he'd leave most of the work to the animators etc.
Is it possible this Hayashida guy could be talking himself up a bit? I mean, when you've got things like that other guy going on about how awesome his creation of Broly was...one can't help but wonder.
I'm also laughing at Toriyama's non-descriptive description of the fight with the Freeza soldiers. Geez, what the heck did he write for the Goku/Freeza fight?

Everyone keeps leaning on this lack of desire to train and fight mentality of Gohan's as though that's the only thing that defined his character. He could have progressed into a much greater character based on how he was built up and the things he experienced in the Cell Games, but even what we got in the Buu saga was good enough. At the end of it, I grew to like the character a lot again... until I saw him in EoZ, but that's another story. People just want consistency. Is that too much to ask for? Why are people excusing piss poor writing by saying Gohan was never a fighter to begin with? I don't get it.
Late reply (I'm just catching up with the last few pages) but I agree! "He's not a fighter" is not an excuse for the jobber treatment he's getting
AT could literally retcon Gohan out of the manga and people would probably still excuse it because "he never liked fighting anyway"..

I know right. "He is a human" is not an excuse for the jobber treatment Yamcha is getting.

I also have this recorded at home on my Sky box, so once I'm back, I'll be sure to record a high quality version of this as opposed to this low quality web rip. That won't be until mid-May, though.

It's entirely possible the song is what had Toriyama thinking about Freeza again and that's why he went along with the idea to bring him back. Or it may be said Producer actually just suggested they restore a villain and the song made Toriyama choose Freeza, which still makes both statements plausible.
