Finally. It was an easy decision for Viz. The sales for the Saiyan Arc were very strong. What volumes were announced?.

OMG OMG, holy shit I'm crying. And I just asked about this in their facebook page for the 8000 time.
Momoiro Clover Z + ROF news in Anime Expo and thinking how they would blew another chance for bringing Freeza arc. Seems like all that spam was worth it.
I'm so happy! Take my money.

God damn. Dragonball just doesn't stop does it?!
Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussi
Um... Am I dreaming?
Cause it sure feels that way.

YES!!!! YES!!!! THANK KAMI, YES!!!!
Took them long enough. And they only did it after I'd already given up and gotten all 20 Japanese volumes (figures ).
It's actually the second time I get the original Japanese Saiyan and Freeza saga volumes - I ordered them back in 2013 only for Viz to announce the English edition before they had even reached my mailbox. Since we now had an English edition on the horizon, I sold them to get some of my money back.
But after nearly a year with no news about a possible continuation into the Freeza saga, it looked like they had given up on this edition, so, I just got all 20 Japanese volumes, 8 of them for the second time, back in February. 4 months later, they do this.
I'm starting to see a pattern here.
Oh well, I'm studying Japanese, so the originals will be good practice anyway. And these bad boys aren't going anywhere until I at least see the Viz Buu volumes coming out.
(So, wait, does this mean anth21ony's post was right all along? Or was that the original intention, which was then scrapped, then brought back onto the table due to popular demand?)

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussi
Man, I really need to get my print copies of the first three. I have them all digitally via WSJ issues, but I never got around to getting the physical copies.
I remember when I first posted my thread speculating a month before it was announced even in Japan what Full Color Dragon Ball would be like, and should it have been done. Then I got my WSJ subscription from Viz just shortly before they announced they would run Full Color Dragon Ball in English.
...I'm too linked to this great product psychically, I must have them all.
Joking aside, I'm glad Viz is doing this. The releases look great and they're really the best way to view the series in my view (up there with Dragon Box Sub and Kai Dub for me).

This is such awesome news. I've been waiting ages for them to announce the continuation of the Full Colour Manga. They're such high quality products. I guess I will be buying a boat load of DragonBall merchandise this year .

Damn, 2015, is there anything you can't do?
Makes perfect sense. There's no better time to release the Freeza stuff. There ain't a cash-in movie every year, y'know.

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussi
Finally! I was waiting for this! Hopefully they fix up their translations here and there. Hah... Happy day... Kind of wish they'd have done it earlier though.
I've recently forced my friend to read Dragon Ball for the first time and given that he's just finished the 22 Budokai Tenkaichi and has been enjoying it so far,
it would have been interesting to give him the option of reading from the Saiyan arc and onward in full color. For now I guess he's gonna have to settle for the
Viz Bigs.

Should I get digital or Print? Digital would save a lot of space?

Thank you, Based God. I am so glad this is happening. I am so hype for this to come out. I was about to import the rest. I'm glad I don't have to now.

I actually bought the first three in digital a while back; presuming they release digital versions for the Freeza arc I'll buy those too. :3

I'm glad my incessant nagging via social media finally did some good...
Looking forward to these next year!

This a thousand times over. I just hope they decided from the get-go to print all remaining 17 volumes instead of making us endure a 1-year news desert between every arc.Dbzfan94 wrote:Now let's only pray the Cell and Buu Sagas don't take as long
Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussi
That is one of the greatest things that could happen in the US. The manga's ultimate definitive edition.
The only real flaw is that the covers are quite ugly (unimpressive title pages when there were much better title pages to choose, and unwelcome "greenifying" of the pictures), and the size back to Tankobon in Japan.
You know, I still hope that we get the bigger size in France like you guys to better enjoy the impressive colored panels, but my hopes are limited: Shueisha has a tendancy to give France their exact Japanese product, keeping it 100% faithful to the original except minor cover adjustments sometimes (background color).
Basically, they want us to feel as if Japan was France, with only the texts being changed to French and the rest being exactly what it is to Japanese people. So, a change of size for this Full Color edition is extremely unlikely, I'm pretty sure they'll want us to have the Japanese size.
But you guys will have the primary material - the manga - in the best form possible.
You can easily get rid of any edition you have to get the all-better ultimate update as the release goes on.
Whereas in France (and possibly other countries), we might lose the size, giving us a reason to keep the Kanzenban / Perfect Edition to go along with the Full Color edition since the latter might be Tankobon-sized, so you gotta have one edition looking all much better with colored and more detailed artwork, and one edition for the more impressive and immersive size.
