I dunno. Would Freddy Kruger be so cavalier about getting Nancy?

Trunks is the guy who actually killed him, and he did it in the most emasculating way possible.

Incidentally, anyone else wish Freeza had stayed in little chunks and bits for more of the movie? Like, his minions can't put him back together right away, so they carry him around in a jar-sized healing chamber? And he'd wiggle this way to order one thing, then wiggle that way to say something else? Wouldn't it be creepy if he silently vaporized people and telepathically gut-punched Gohan in that form? No? Okay.

Fat Buu was destroyed completely when the planet was blown up by Freeza.
He devolved into saying only one word. Time to hit the ol' cosmic trail.

I get the hate for the movie but I personally enjoyed it. I particularly love the new forms of Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza and I'm glad they also made it into Xenoverse DLC.

Chuckled a couple of times throughout the movie, and it felt refreshingly un-climatic. Whilst I feel the turning back of time was a little cheap, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire movie.

When Beerus stated he was using 70%, Goku also said he was using 80% at the same time. Though I do admit it was just before Goku was losing his god power, so I don't think we saw Goku using 100% anywhere in the fight. Maybe when he countered that huge blast above the Earth he could have used 100% but not before this. He's a little higher than 60% of Beerus.

I saw the movie and Frieza initially wanted revenge on both Saiyans that defeated him. He asked about Trunks, and Sorbet said had no clue where Trunks was, "either could have been killed by someone else or went away somewhere" - said something like that to Frieza. But we all know he just went back to his own time. lol :P
funrush wrote:Actually the only thing that disappointed me about this movie was how they treated Gohan. He went from five years ago being the strongest person on Earth, to getting one-shotted by first form Freeza. Guess he's gonna get left in the dust soon along with Piccolo.
Gohan reverted back to base form immediately after one shotting Shisami. Gohan was totally powered down and caught off guard when he was killed briefly. His own negligence, could have been prevented by remaining in SSJ a bit longer. We also have no clue how strong Frieza's 1st form became. His 1st form could very well have surpassed his initial 100% original form. That is just about the only way I can imagine Frieza's gold form matching God Goku SSJ.

In my opinion, while he is an interesting character - he got a bit too much screen time. I also had no idea who this was before I saw this movie.. I assume not many people who watched/read Dragon Ball even know either.

Not quite.

Halfway through the fight: Beerus says he wasn't using anything near his full power, Goku says he was using 80%. Both power up, Goku to his full power.

After the fight: Beerus defeated Goku's full power; Whis states later that Beerus only used 70% of his power (i.e. that was the most he used in the entire fight).

Goku's 100% was seen twice: Once when both he and Beerus powered up in the cave, for a few seconds (in which Beerus, now at 70%, still held an advantage) before reverting to base; and then again, like you said, countering that final blast of Beerus'.

Goku was in fact exactly 60% of Beerus power, as stated unequivocally by Toriyama, and this matches up with what happened in the movie (that Beerus' 70% slightly exceeded Goku's 100%).

Then I guess the Funimation dub had it slightly wrong. I just saw the move again last night for kicks, and Beerus stated up until that point in the cave he was using 70% (since Goku achieved God form) and that he was going to use more. I only read the scans once (easily could have forgotten some lines) but saw the movie a bunch of times.

Finally saw the film

1. Screw Funimation and that stupid ad they had before the movie.. god pointless.

2. I really enjoyed the action however the character designs I'm not a fan of.. why is everyone so skinny this time around? was annoying.

3. Beerus and Whis are still great I really enjoy them.

4. I'm lucky as this wasn't a problem for me but I imagine a lot of the fanbase was pretty "WTF" with Jaco and right away he is going into detail about Bulma's sister and what not.. must have really pissed some people off I know I would be if I didn't know about him.

5. Poor Yamcha my theater gave a big laugh with the line about "These guys are too much for him" *sigh*

Overall I really enjoyed it, I wish more time was spent in Hell though.. but also this seemed to be more like an OVA action fest then a full fledged movie.

The end with Goku was pretty disjaring just a walk up huge Kamehameha..

Spewing vitriol is not an appropriate way to post here. Explain why you think this way, and do so with a better attitude. You CAN explain why you dislike things without acting like this.

So, I assume you all remember the pre-show. Remember when Sean Schemmel was talking about how he had to study the Canadian cast when he started? He goes on how when the SSJ transformation happened and then he states how he "transformed" and made Goku his own and was done mimicking the Canadian cast? That came off as really pretentious to me. I even asked my cousin who saw it with me who doesn't like Dragon Ball all that much and has no opinion on the voices, and even he said that sounded really pretentious and full of himself. The only thing my cousin had to say on the voices is that he likes Masako Nozawa more than Schemmel. The only place he's heard Nozawa was in J-Stars Victory Vs. + on the PS4. He said that Schemmel was good, and not bad, but he liked Nozawa more. I was surprised since I'd assumed he liked Schemmel more.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Huh, really? Just watched the scene (like, seconds ago) to check since you said that, and word for word, Beerus says (dub):

"I still haven't come close to using my full power in this fight."

Goku: "Oh, that makes sense. I've been going at about 80% myself."

Beerus: "What?! You're holding back? All right, fine! Let's see how you do at this speed!" *attacks*

That's it. No mention of 70%.

Movie is down to 80% on Rotten Tomatoes after another negative review gave it a 2/5. There is a positive review from Tech Times that just came out but hasn't been added to RT yet (not sure if it will).

What's pretentious about that? An actor should try and make the role their own over being some cheap mimic of someone else. It'd be like if every actor who played Batman in some form or another tried to mimic Adam West (or Hell, even if they mimicked a serious one for a serious role, you'd never give a damn about the specific actors). It just wouldn't stand as well as an actor doing their damnedest to make something unique, yet good and fitting for the role. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it does. And Schemmel's Goku is one of the times I feel it did work (though it took a few years to refine into something great).

Hell, his evolution in the role of Goku has been a good thing. The first step was stepping into his own as an actor. Everyone's gotta start somewhere.

My thoughts from fragments of movie i saw:

Positives:

- Dialogue between Bulma and Freeza was hilarious (SHUT YOUR MOUTH WOMAN!) :D
- Vegeta had his revenge on Freeza, and he techinically won, he would kill Freeza, if he wasn't jerk, and decided to blew planet

Neutral:

- Sorbet ring manager to mortally wound Goku, earlier, i found this part b.shit, because i thought, that no matter if that was surprise attack or not, it shouldn't worked, becasue of pl difference (Recoome case, where attack by surprise still didn't do anything) but then i realised, that KI attack might work on entirely different rules, even Freeza was damaged from battle worn Kuririn/Gohan ki attack, and Trunks had to deflect blast from Freeza soldier, who was 1500 at best

Negative:

- Goku realise, that his arrogance/softness caused Earth to be destroyed. Dialogue at end of movie: "Should we team up next time? Nah" So..he leant nothing"
- Poor Gohan, at this point, he better resign from fight completely. Not only he forget Mystic form, he become such a wuss
- I'm beating dead horse, but i still think Pilaf&co should be killed, they are still dangerous, why Z-Warriors don't see it?
- 4 months training....prodigy or not, 4 months is too little, just say that Freeza trained in place where time goes slower, and it would be much better. It make Freeza dumb too, instead of training more, to get used to his new form and get stronger, he just had to fight them now, what a hothead

From what i've seen, movie was ok, but..it seem like animated fanfiction,

I wouldn't insult good fanfiction by comparing it to this, at least any decent fan fic writer would try something different where as Toriyama was in full generic mode this time around.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

No Blu-ray 3D? Ah well. The 3D was nothing special so it's not a big loss.
