Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don't know how anyone can say this retelling is any good, problems weren't changed, they were rearranged.
-Let's be honest, Piccolo and Vegeta took too long on their guys. At least in the movie Piccolo had three to contend with, but in duels? Piccolo was stronger than Freeza's second form and Vegeta after his last zenkai could at least see attacks incoming from Freeza's fourth form. So how is it that the Cooler Squadron weren't being one shotted?
-Gohan is canonically is stronger than Neiz, so why is he too not one shotting Neiz?
For all the problems the movie had, at least it came up with an interesting premise beyond Freeza having a brother. Goku was at his most vulnerable, and unlike the Freeza and Cell Sagas he couldn't go to a safer area and recuperate, he was on the battlefield the entire time, and then at the end Piccolo saved him when he had no more energy to defend against Salza. But here? Standard monster of the week fare. This isn't better. It's just different.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Both DBM's retellings of DBZ Movie 5 and Movie 10 where better then the ones we got. I would love to see DBM try to retell the other movies, but that won't happen.

Movie 13 still has some chance:Hellspawn28 wrote:Both DBM's retellings of DBZ Movie 5 and Movie 10 where better then the ones we got. I would love to see DBM try to retell the other movies, but that won't happen.
Dragon Ball -not-Z movies didn't happen.
DBZ Movies 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 didn't happen.
Movie 6 (Coola) happened in many DBM universes, but differently (there will be a special chapter).
Movie 8 (Broly) happened, but with slight differences.
Movie 9 (Bojack) happened, and turned out badly in universe 6.
Movie 10 (Broly's Return) happened, but the story is completely different.
Movies 11 and 12 didn't happen.
Movie 13 (Tapion) happened, with slight differences, in Universe 18 and in Universe 16. It also happened very differently in Universe 3.
The Dr. Raichi OAV may have happened in another universe not shown in the tournament. We'll tell you more later.
The Baddack TV Special happened, in most of the universes, except Baddack can't see the future. In universe 3, it happened differently.
The Trunks TV Special didn't happen in universes 16 and 18, but happened in universes 12 and 14.
The Tarble Movie didn't happen.
The Baddack TV Special where he goes in the past didn't happen.
The series DBGT and the DBGT TV Special didn't happen.
The manga Jaco may have happened. But not the chapter Dragon Ball Minus.
Movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection of F didn't happen.
The series "Dragon Ball Super" didn't happen. This series changes too much of the story and transformations and happens before DBM. We can't stay compatible, especially that we don't know how it ends.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
All the problems you pointed out only exist if you fixate on the idea of how strong they are supposed to be according to the original movie and other material. This is a retelling where things didn't happen exactly the same, so there's nothing suggesting that they are exactly as strong as they were in the movie compared to each other.FoolsGil wrote:I don't know how anyone can say this retelling is any good, problems weren't changed, they were rearranged.

Also, what you call interesting is just an obvious artificial attempt to create tension, first by taking out Goku so easily and then by, inexplicably, making Goku not use SSJ until the end.

By the way, Asura and Salagir:

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I thought they'd be younger, to be honest.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I suppose no one should just a book by their cover, but not gonna lie, was not expecting a webcomic fan artist to look so rugged.
As for Saligir, yeah I was thinking late 20s at the max, not...late 30s I guess?

...I'm guessing you didn't click the link for context (not that to post really needed it). The section about Salagir in the book lists his age as 34.FoolsGil wrote:Not quite sure why you bring this up, but good for Derek I guess.Tzigi wrote:Derek Padula's book has his age as 34.FoolsGil wrote: As for Salagir, yeah I was thinking late 20s at the max, not...late 30s I guess?

They just never learn with the smoke do they lol.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
