Cool, this seems like a great middle ground.VegettoEX wrote:I'll likely do a couple clips (and probably only within the confines of the forum), particularly the ones I did some fancy sound editing on. I'll also definitely release my "AMV" continuation of the Saiyan/Tsufurian introduction, too.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
So I'm working on this Raditz + Nappa + Vegeta thing. Right now I've got it fading into the BGM from DBZ Movie 1 to get rid of the narrator talking, fading the video down to black, having "Several Years Later" fade onto screen in white text, and then this scene comes in.

That's all fine and dandy, except this scene ends pretty terribly. Here's a clip of it to actually showcase what's up. The BGM continues as it comes back to Vegeta in the "present day" to keep talking (I have it fading into the BGM-only here to get around that and complete the track), but I obviously can't show that. I don't really know what to do. Fade the BGM down and do something else? What do I do? Go to the ending credits? I haven't put ending credits in, but the way this scene works, I'm almost leaning back toward putting the credits where they're supposed to be in the Bardock special, and then coming back to this (but then still having no idea how to resolve the scene).
I dunno. Thoughts?

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
Thanks, Kaiser! I'll probably end up using that
.
So I started working on the end credits scroll today. After finishing up the voices, I was moving on to the rest of the credits (animation, etc.). My original plan was to also include the names used in the episodes that I used splices from -- for example, also listing the key animators from DBZ TV episode 78 (and the other ones) in addition to the list from the Bardock special.
Well, that got REAL unwieldy REAL fast.
I figure that since I can't even guarantee that those people worked on the tiny scenes I'm snipping from the larger episodes and movies, anyway, there's not a huge deal to be made if I don't include them. Right? ... right?
In terms of voices, I did expand that section a bit. I included Broli [do we know that Shimada did the baby cries...?), Raditz, Coola, Sauza, Dore, Neiz, and Gurd in addition to the ones actually listed in the Bardock special. I also put in all three voices for King Vegeta, since it's a different one each time
. (Actually, I'll have to go in and check if I have him speak more than twice... definitely movie 8's, and definitely DBZ TV episode 78...).
(I think I still need to insert that Vegeta/Gurd scene, too, somewhere... grar...)

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
Nah, it's still sitting there. Couple last things to do that I just haven't gotten around to doing. I pulled together the credit roll (all names listed in Japanese and translated) master file, which I'll eventually pull into After Effects and scroll up a la the endings of the DBZ movies.DNA wrote:So... did the project die off?
I think all that's left is inserting Vegeta & Gurd's scene somewhere and doing the ending credits.
I haven't forgotten about it

I see, yeah I believe you have many things to do before this project, I was just wondering because I haven't heard anything about it at all.

Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
No-one at Otakon seemed interested in playing it, so I had no deadline.
My computer blew up, so I have nothing to edit on.
It still exists. It's on a hard drive. It'll get ported over to a new machine this month.
Dunno what else to tell ya'.

So, will this ever be released?

Pretty sure that was answered at least once each on the seven pages of the thread...
Will it be completed? Yes. Will it be "released"? Of course not.

Not necessarily. Mr. EX has mentioned he'd like it to air in a convention or something so people get a chance to see it. I'm fairly certain he means that he won't be putting up the file to download, since they'd be distributing the series for free, which is, you know, illegal.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:So, no one will get to see it? Re: Bardock Special: Director's Cut
Yeppers. That's what I said
.
While I'm here talking about it...
New computer has been built and everything has been ported over. I'm running a totally different OS (now Windows 7 64-bit) and versions of software, so I'll likely have issues importing the old project file into the new stuff. I'm kinda dreading it. I think I was running the Bardock special itself via AVIsynth into Premiere (all 32-bit versions), but all of the other clips were thankfully just straight-up AVIs (Lagarith). I may have to just re-encode myself the entire Bardock special as a Lagarith and go back in and re-do all the edits, but at least it's all nicely outlined here in the thread...!
If and when I get around to completing things, no worries -- I'll be sure to update with it. It's so mostly-done that it's not even a concern to worry about it getting dropped!

I wonder if it'd be possible to do something like doing a live stream over the Internet (that people wouldn't be able to easily record)...AgitoZ wrote:Not necessarily.
