Not really. That'd be like saying if, back in the original DBZ, they started promoting the Android saga by having pictures of Goku and Cell back-to-back, that, "Woah! It's like they're advertising it as a new series!" No. It's just Arc 3.

I really wish Toyotaro's adaptation manga would stop. I honestly think it's more exciting waiting for the episodes to premiere.

I'm enjoying the manga. I like Toyotarou's art-style and getting spoilers so far in advance.

No need to to stop the manga. Just avoid the manga thread and you'll be fine. Manga to Anime is usually how it goes so you always know whats going to happen with the exception of filler. Even though the manga is just a promotional piece it's trying to keep with that tradition which anime only series lack.

I like having the manga around as an early preview of what's to come. It's the closest thing to living through the original serialization of the series most of us likely have ever gotten to live, and that's pretty awesome.

That said though, I'm not really sure I get why so many seem to be looking at it as the 'definitive' version of Super. It's a fun read, yeah, but it's jumpy in a lot of places, and is clearly just an advertising tool for the show as the main product (kind of an interesting reverse of how things usually are). That's not to say people aren't entitled to enjoy it more than the anime, but I just don't get it personally.

I totally agree. And I personally like the things happening in the anime far more than what I'm seeing in the manga.

Kind of nice just to see Piccolo there being amongst it. I would love to see him reach some sort of standard where he could be considered on par, or not far off with Goku and Vegeta. It may be tough to think about being plausible but it would be great.
