I like Sabat's personality and think that he's smart one and have a sense of humor which is familiar to me.....
Also he had some nice and true toughts on story in anime and guys he dubbed, so for me it's not a suprise that he realizes flaws of the dub, because that's what will obviously people realize.....
For me it'll be surprise if he'll say: This dub? That's actually one of our masterpieces we should be proud of and the best dub that fans of series can have here!

I would say it's pretty much guaranteed there wouldn't be too many problems with a 2009-era FUNimation dubbing Kai.
I can't say the same about them actually getting it. That seems to be up in the air, as Sabat also thinks.

I love his Vegeta voice as is. I've said it before on here but to me his vegeta IS the Vegeta i think of. Like Japanese Goku IS the Goku I think of. I like both dub and original but some people can never be redone IMO.

Freeza, please! But to be honest, I think they'll only recast simply to avoid having to hire the people who've moved out of Texas. That would be Schemmel and Clarke, right? If anyone's to be recast it's Clarke - Sabat can actually imitate him pretty well as proved by the video games.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Two actors who moved to L.A. are still performing in their shows, so distance isn't really a problem. Plus, I could never see the main character getting a voice change anyway.

Schemmel
is the American Goku, Funimation will never recast somebody else as Goku.

Wasn't that said before about the Ocean cast?

I don't believe Sabat actually voices Cell in any games. Clarke just records under an assumed name.

I really couldn't tell you, but I guess the proof is in the pudding right? I mean not only did this cast replace Ocean.... but they're still around too.

Well, Ocean did dub the Android, Cell, and Boo stuff (albeit, for only Canada, the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands), FUNimation's really still only doing video games (or rather, Sabat's Okratron5000).

Well yeah that's what I meant. Those guys did all that stuff in the UK, but I was referring to the US.

His under arms are pink, pink, pink! In his head he's sick, sick, sick!
If anyone gets recast, I hope it's Freeza! ...And Goku. I never liked Sean Schemmel's Goku. I liked his first voice and his second, but with the third voice, he stopped sounding like Goku.

You thought Peter Kelamis sounded like Goku?

To each his own man, but there's a reason why MasakoX bases his Goku off of that of Peter Kelamis. Despite the slight accent, he really brought a light-hearted and innocent-sounding nature to the character. And, come on, his scream in movie 2 - even fanboys on both sides give him great credit for it.

I'm not saying I didn't like ol' Pistol Pete (and yes, I did just call Peter Kelamis "Pistol"), it's just that most people complain that Goku doesn't sound childish enough like Nozawa and Kelamis just sort of sounds like... well, a surfer.

Eh, I'd take any of Schemmel's Super Saiyan 3 screams over that any day.

He did sound like a surfer in the series, but in the movies he was a part of it was toned down a bit, I think.

Only because Funimation decided it was a good idea to start dubbing things in-studio, and they've kept them in those roles for consistency.

I never really heard "surfer" in his voice.
Now Matt Hill, that guy sounds like a surfer.
As for Schemmel, he sounds like he's trying to give Goku a hard edge, which I disapprove of.
Kelamis' Goku voice fits the personality more.
