Not really, if you are specifically talking about the DCAU, for a lot of the early stuff like Superman the animated series and Justice League, the signifigantly depowered a lot of people to add more tension and make some characters more relatable. As for comic recommendations, I've been told that Superman: American Alien is a really good series! As for older stuff...I'd have to dig around, superman books can be rather hit and miss, mostly cause the character is difficult for some writers to wrap their head around. But when someone hits, its usually a really good read.Hugo Boss wrote:By the way, is there any version of Superman in animated cartoons that could challenge Super Saiyan God in Dragon Ball Super? I'm more familiar with the movies and never read any of Superman's comics. Maybe I should consider buying the comics. For that, I would apreciate recomendations.

Is it true that Death Battle didn't use a specific version of Superman but some composite version?
With Goku they used things from the anime aswell because GT was included and they included the 40 ton line into Goku's stats to judge his strenght but they didn't take into account what he actually did like push the mountain apart.
They also calculated SSJ4's strenght from a DBZ Goku even though by the time Goku was able to become a SSJ4 he was already stronger in base form than he was as a SSJ3 in DBZ.
So it should have been something like
Base - 40 tons
SSJ - 2,000 tons
SSJ2 - 4,000 tons
SSJ3 - 16,000 tons
Base (GT) - 16,000 tons
SSJ - 800,000 tons
SSJ2 - 1,600,000 tons
SSJ3 - 6,400,000 tons
SSJ4 - 64,000,000 tons
Tao Pai Pai = 5,000,000 tons
New 52 superman - 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons for 5 days without sunlight.
Lex Luthor w/Superman's powers (All-Star Superman comic): couldn't fly with 50 Gs
Lex Luthor w/Superman's powers (All-Star Superman movie): couldn't fly with 500 Gs
Buu Arc Goku in Base: flying with the equivalent of 585 Gs

Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
That would depend on how long that 500g lasted. Because he fell when he got hit with it but he was flying like a minute later and didn't look to try before then. Or could just be the surprise of it since he is going from 1 to 500g ~instantly.Tectorman wrote:The corollary to that is:apex_pretador wrote:21st TB goku = 300 tonsBullza wrote:Yeah just keep on topic, Digimon doesn't have anything to do with this.

Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
So I'm gonna need context here but is this Lex in Superman's body or just Lex Luthor in his own body with Superman powers? Cause that can make a whole world of difference.Tectorman wrote:The corollary to that is:apex_pretador wrote:21st TB goku = 300 tonsBullza wrote:Yeah just keep on topic, Digimon doesn't have anything to do with this.

Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
Lex had a 24 hour super power serum that Superman invented so that Lois Lane could have Kryptonian powers for a day. The 500g wasn't to keep him from flying it was to change the flow of time for Lex and make the powers time out.
Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
Ah ok, then I don't understand why this comparison is being made. That's on Lex's limitations, not Superman. Thank you for clarifying man.dario03 wrote:Lex had a 24 hour super power serum that Superman invented so that Lois Lane could have Kryptonian powers for a day. If you want good stories, try All-Star Superman and For the Man Who Has Everything. Actually just check out any comics written by Alan Moore in general.Hugo Boss wrote:By the way, is there any version of Superman in animated cartoons that could challenge Super Saiyan God in Dragon Ball Super? Well according to Vsbattles the only version of Superman who is multiversalis Cos IC Armour Superman who is apparently the strongest version of Superman there is.
A couple other versions of Superman are listed as Universal and that's it.

It's one of the most extensive places dedicated to the issue of comparison of power and level of "busting" between fictional characters.Polyphase Avatron wrote:There's your problem right there.Bullza wrote:Well according to Vsbattles

But I hear they're really unreliable and often simply make stuff up.rereboy wrote:It's one of the most extensive places dedicated to the issue of comparison of power and level of "busting" between fictional characters.Polyphase Avatron wrote:There's your problem right there.Bullza wrote:Well according to Vsbattles

Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
For Dragon Ball, they use dub/fan names and sometimes include dub-only things to their power scaling and some other things like "Trunks and Goten can't be close to the Adults because bla bla bla", "Roshi can't be moon level because xxx", etc. So i don't really trust their tiers for DB characters except for the God Tiers. But for the other franchise, they're pretty reliable. They are waay more reliable than Screw Attack.Polyphase Avatron wrote:But I hear they're really unreliable and often simply make stuff up.
Cosmic Armor Superman is Low Hyperverse level according to them, and Strange Visitor Superman is Complex Multiverse level, though for some reason, it looks like they removed the latter's page.Bullza wrote:Well according to Vsbattles the only version of Superman who is multiversalis Cos IC Armour Superman who is apparently the strongest version of Superman there is.

Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
Personally, I didn't encounter anything really unreliable on their website. At most I saw things that we might not agree because our interpretation varies somewhat and perhaps some small errors, but nothing completely wrong.Polyphase Avatron wrote:

Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
I know they list Master Roshi as being City Block/City level as opposed to Moon level because they consider that feat to be an outlier. I suppose they have a point but it does make it a little awkward because he did infact destroy the moon.
Re: Death Battle: Goku vs Superman 2
Yes, but that's a matter of interpretation really. Dragon Ball isn't exactly consistent with Roshi managing to destroy the moon but a much more powerful Piccolo Daimao becoming exhausted after two city-level attacks, so it's certainly perfectly understandable to consider the feat as an outlier in terms of power consistency.Bullza wrote:I know they list Master Roshi as being City Block/City level as opposed to Moon level because they consider that feat to be an outlier.
