Well, as I said above, I'm more knowledgeable about their treatment of the TV series than what they're doing with the movies lately. Given what the other posts in this thread said, the movies appeared to follow the same pattern as their TV counterparts. So I guess then I have to ask: is the online version truly HD or just an upscale? And in terms of the Blu-rays, is it ONLY the 4th DB movie that hasn't been released to that format, or, as I assumed, all of the non-Z films? Is this why the original poster made this topic? Because there is an HD version online, and he's wondering why it isn't on a physical medium?sangofe wrote:But they released it in HD digitally online...
Can anyone explain to me why The Path To Power didn't get the Bluray treatment?

Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

Actually, the first three Dragon Ball movies have been released on blu-ray in Mexico, apparently using Funimation's masters (there was a thread about these releases on kanzenshuu when they were announced). They're releasing the movies in order so they should reach Path To Power by summer 2017. There's no English or Japanese audio or English subtitles though, so some tinkering would be needed to make them accessible for most of us here.
I guess that makes it even odder that Funi never churned out a blu-ray of the DB movies.

Sure looks like a true HD release.Gaffer Tape wrote:Well, as I said above, I'm more knowledgeable about their treatment of the TV series than what they're doing with the movies lately. Much like GT, the original Dragon Ball series and the four Dragon Ball movies, it just wasn't popular enough to warrant a Blu Ray release.

They do have film for the DB movies, just not for the series itself.

Where? A quick google search did not net any legal results. I'm really interested in this.sangofe wrote:But they released it in HD digitally online...

Here at FUNimaton's site (if I'm not mistaken), available in the U.S. and Canada only and you're right, it sure isn't obvious there or in search results, which is a shame in this day and age.phattangent wrote:Where?
