As for this movie on YouTube: Seen it before. It was alright, but it wasn't as ambitious as the Goku vs. Freeza live-action on YouTube in terms of mid-air combat.
Quit holding out on us and link us to what you refer to!
You mean you
haven't seen it? There was a big fuss about how much "it wuz t3h sux n ghey" on here awhile back because of the goofy hair and stuff.
Not nearly as clean-looking as the one in the opening post, but it's ambitious!

I also haven't been around these parts in some time. In any case.... actually I didn't find anything good about that one. The DBZ fan film that my podunk high school did was actually much better.
Thank you for the link, though!
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Well, look at it this way: Take the nice look of the video in the opening post and have it try to emulate the right-out-of-the-show visual effects of the one I linked you to.
What I'm getting at is while the first one looks nice, it took a lot of shortcuts that the "bad" one didn't take.

Both of these fan films to me are just awful. The special effects are good, but effects don't help out the performance. To me this looks like fanboy cosplay video's. When the outfits are dead on to the same ones as the cartoon it just doesn't look right in live action. Though 17 and 18 looked alright because they wear somewhat regular clothes. I'd still rather watch a mega mega, devil worshiping, soul selling, big budget, Hollywood conglomerate version.
But seriously, when did Saiyaman fight 17 and 18?

I think the G.S costume works only because it's supposed to look like bad cosplay.

But yes I agree actually. The movie
could be great with professional actors and a huge budget, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it
will be any good.

I'm not sure which live action thread to stick this in, but as this is related to the current one and not the supposed sequels:
A Japanese teaser poster for the movie.
And of course, not a single shot of any of the actors. @_@

Is that legit? That Dragon Ball looks like a tennis ball that ran afoul of photoshop.

Well it came from here:
http://dragonballfilm.over-blog.com/
I can't read French, but there is some English written on it saying the image came from a Japanese blog.
I see what you mean though; that lightning at the top seems really iffy to me, not to mention the clouds themselves.

Here's the zoomed-in shot of it.
It's certainly the
most official-looking poster so far; The graphics certainly look professional (
fanmade ones don't tend to include things like the FOX logo), the date is correct, the url currently redirects to FOX's Japanese "coming soon" section, and the Japanese is a coherent sentence (
"Legend Becomes Reality") and not nonsense. So most signs point to it being legit.
On top of that, the blog that it originally appeared on has shut down. It's plausible that FOX is responsible, though you'd have to wonder
why they'd want it off the web if they already have the poster released somewhere. Perhaps if this truly IS the real poster, then it was unintentionally leaked.
Dragon Ball ended in 1997.

Sorry for the double-post, but it's another big update, and unless I'm mistaken, only editing my last post wouldn't bump the thread.
Anyway, official first English teaser poster, anyone?

As much as I'd like to see some official promotions for this, the English ad looks photoshopped.
I mean, what's that black bar underneath the "A" in ball?
And if the tag-line is leaning on a / slant, shouldn't the movie title be leaning on the same slant? It looks like its going straight across.
And there's no FOX logo on it like there is with the Japanese one.
I dunno, I could be wrong.
If it is real, that PSP lightning picture tube spamming up at the top is still a real turn off.
I don't suppose anyone could solve this by figuring out what movie poster is reflected on the upper left side of this poster?

A good chunk of the English one is cut off at the bottom; I suspect that's where the date, logos, and possibly the website are.
As for things looking slanted and weird, as someone who works with these posters at a theater, I can 99% assuredly tell you that it's just the way it's sitting in the case. Sometimes these posters end up slightly bigger than the cases have room for, so they end up bending or arcing outwards slightly, which only looks worse in pictures.
I don't know what the deal with little black bar is. If someone were so excellent with Photoshop as to create this poster and make it look this authentic, then there's no way they'd miss something like that. More likely it's something being reflected, or even a piece of tape on the case, or something.
Also, I noticed something about the lightning effects. Look closer at what's there WITH the lightning. Some sort of bright golden-red plume of energy spiraling upwards out of the DragonBall.

Sweetness. Awesome find. I see Prom Night in the reflection, imo, it looks pretty authentic. Then again, there are some extremely skilled photo manip pros out there.

If the poster is indeed official, I'm glad that they put the four-star ball on the poster....there were those early plot descriptions that said Gokuu had the three-star ball in the movie, which is just such a stupid thing to screw up.

I'm sure if the poster is not official, Fox are perhaps then waiting to have an advertisement with all the actors in the background I.E James Marshalls and Justin.
The Japanese one does indeed look authentic, but I'm having my doubts with the english one has it seems to have a few glitches... Still if a fan did design the poster, then they should look at a career working for Fox!

What's with the date? Is that supposed to be the date of the poster's printing?
Kaboom, if you work with these I'll say your hands on experience trumps my knowledge. Don't most posters write the date in the order of month-day-year?

Onikage: No, that's just the date stamp from the digital camera of whoever took the picture. >_>
And yeah, that's Prom Night reflected. Thanks, Snail, I knew it looked familiar.
SailorSpazz: I'm pretty sure it's since been revealed that it is actually the four-star that Gohan has. There was an interview with someone, I believe, where they mentioned the early 3-star tidbit was an error.

Looks legit to me. Some people just don't know how to aim a camera.
Actually seeing a poster makes me excited for the movie. I hope I see a teaser poster when I go to see Iron Man next week. That would be pretty sweet. I'll try to not steal it, either.
