Did they change Hildegarn's ability? From what I recall, he would turn into smoke after any attack in the movie, not just piercing attacks.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Why do you think he can only turn to smoke after piercing attacks? He can turn to smoke whenever he wants but Hildegarn is either choosing not to turn smoke agaisnt regular attacks or Cell's regular attacks have been too fast for him to react to them, while his piercing attacks have been slower, which allows Hildegarn to react to them and turn to smoke to avoid them.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Did they change Hildegarn's ability? Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Just based on the drawings themselves, the art almost looks the wrong way round to me, like the stabbing attack is the afterimage and he's closing his hand into a fist, but that would imply his hand was traveling backwards, so he's pretty clearly opening his fist into a stabbing attack as well as the speed lines showing that.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm not saying that he is unable to turn into a smoke when he doesn't get hit by piercing attacks, but the way Cell describes it, and from what we see, he only chooses to turn into smoke against piercing attacks only. Which, from what I recall, isn't what he does in the movie.rereboy wrote:Why do you think he can only turn to smoke after piercing attacks? Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Like I said, you can interpret it any number of ways. One of them is, indeed, Hildegarn choosing to not bother turning to smoke against attacks that actually won't hurt him. Another is simply Cell's regular, fast, attacks, being too fast for him to react to, while piercing ones (like the Kienzan that Cell tried previously) give enough time to Hildegarn to react to them.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:I'm not saying that he is unable to turn into a smoke when he doesn't get hit by piercing attacks, but the way Cell describes it, and from what we see, he only chooses to turn into smoke against piercing attacks only. This last attack for example, since it was pretty much as fast as a regular attack and it was hard to see that it was more dangerous than a simple punch, landed on him and hurt him. It could have been because it was as fast as his regular attacks, or because it was harder for Hildegarn to see it, or both.
In any case, this Hildegarn isn't exactly the Hildegarn from the movie (he has Tapion in him and his development could have been different), nor is his adversary exactly like the ones he faced in the movie.

That's what I'm saying all this time, that this Hildegarn works differently from the one from the movie.rereboy wrote:In any case, this Hildegarn isn't exactly the Hildegarn from the movie (he has Tapion in him and his development could have been different), nor is his adversary exactly like the ones he faced in the movie.

He might or he might not. Like I explained, he doesn't necessary work differently (regarding his smoke ability).DBZGTKOSDH wrote:That's what I'm saying all this time, that this Hildegarn works differently from the one from the movie.rereboy wrote:In any case, this Hildegarn isn't exactly the Hildegarn from the movie (he has Tapion in him and his development could have been different), nor is his adversary exactly like the ones he faced in the movie.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Because the attack was as fast as the previous regular attacks that also managed to hit and didn't give enough to time to react to them, or because he didn't realize that the attack would be more dangerous than a regular one since it was hard to see, or both, or any other possibility. Like I said, there's multiple possibilities and not all of them support him actually acting differently from the movie. I don't know how to explain it any better than this.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:But it looks like it does. He doesn't turn into smoke when he gets punched here.rereboy wrote:He might or he might not. Smart move, opponent has to be seen in area, if Cell manage to hold him inside without exploding, he won, hopefully planet survive giant fat Cell weight

2) Definitely.
I'm starting to wonder if Cell will once again explode giving him yet another huge power boost.

I'm going to laugh if Hirudegan solidifies inside Cell and causes him to explode.
Still expecting him to reach his transformed state too. With all the other characters having transformations mid battle, I'll be disappointed if he doesn't...

He may transform inside Cell and burst out of him like a cocoon, forcing Cell to regenerate.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I can see Buu doing things like this but Cell? Are they just giving him random powers now?
