How people are still expecting Funimation to have Goku say scripted lines from 1999 after various interactions over the years, plus the efforts put forth by DBZKai and BoG's amazing dub is beyond me. You guys expected him to say superhero-y stuff?
At this point, you can only expect accuracy from Funi.

Thats funny because on BoG Goku Sean Ver said ''I will not let you destroy MY world'' instead of ''Dont take pleasure in destruction'' which is very heroic from my perspective.NeoKING wrote:How people are still expecting Funimation to have Goku say scripted lines from 1999 after various interactions over the years, plus the efforts put forth by DBZKai and BoG's amazing dub is beyond me. I don't think anyone was expecting it. It's less "Whew, they didn't do that!" and more "Man, we really are past that!"
If that makes sense.

I saw the movie last night in Paris and I had a blast. Resurrection F might be my favorite DBZ movie ever. The Z Warriors vs Freeza's Army fight is SO good!

I think this was the Entertainment Weekly article about Resurrection F that Chuquita was referring to.Bullza wrote:I haven't seen anything for Entertainment Weekly but I have seen articles about the movie on Variety and Forbes. I also saw an article on Business Insider where the guy said he'd watched never or been into anime but saw the trailer for the new movie (the dubbed trailer) and said it looked like a fun ride and akin to a summer blockbuster popcorn movie.
There's also articles on IGN and Superherohype so it does to be getting more media interest this time around.

Okay, well, turns out the movie is screening at a theater that's like 5 - 10 minutes away from my house...

I count 36 theatres. Battle of Gods was shown in only 12 theatres in Australia.Super Saiyan Swagger wrote:Madman Entertainment updated http://www.dragonballz.com.au and it now lists where the film will be playing within Australia. It is a MUCH wider release compared to last year's Battle of Gods

It could be seen that way, but it could also be seen as a selfish "Destroy other worlds, but this is where my food, house, and family (in that order) are! Stop!". Honestly, the original line is just as potentially heroic sounding, and a lot less selfish (more broad sounding).SansrivaaL wrote:Thats funny because on BoG Goku Sean Ver said ''I will not let you destroy MY world'' instead of ''Dont take pleasure in destruction'' which is very heroic from my perspective.

FUNimation is making me more hype. I hate how I have to wait until August to watch this. The dub sounds great and hearing Ayres as Freeza is music to my ears. I'm super hyped.

The dub preview clip posted a couple pages back has an Entertainment Weekly watermark on it.Lord Beerus wrote: I think this was the Entertainment Weekly article about Resurrection F that Chuquita was referring to.

I've just realised a huge possible conundrum for myself (and maybe others).
RoF is getting a theatrical dubbed release in August, like that year. It'll likely get a home video release in October, like last year.
But what if next March or April for the TV broadcast they have an extended version again? Does that mean that Funimation would release an extended dubbed version on home video several months afterwards?
I don't know about other people but I would only buy the movie once and obviously I'd want the extended version but would it mean having to wait likely another year before getting it?
It may not even have an extended edition but if I bought it upon release and then there was then I'd never watch it again knowing it's the short version.
It'll possibly be half a year to wait after it comes out on DVD/Blu Ray before we even find out if there will be an extended version or not.

With the confirmed announcement that Battle of Gods and Resurrection F are being adapted as TV arcs in Super, I sincerely doubt we're getting an extended version of the film. They'll likely just recycle any potentially scrapped ideas into the TV version instead.

Yeah, extending this film will only needlessly drain resources.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:With the confirmed announcement that Battle of Gods and Resurrection F are being adapted as TV arcs in Super, I sincerely doubt we're getting an extended version of the film. Well for better or worse, technically we are getting an extended edition of Resurrection F through Super.JulieYBM wrote:Yeah, extending this film will only needlessly drain resources.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:With the confirmed announcement that Battle of Gods and Resurrection F are being adapted as TV arcs in Super, I sincerely doubt we're getting an extended version of the film. Hopefully in the Dragon Ball Super version of events we'll get to see the awesome punch from Goku with his Super Saiyan God form in the background, which took place during Goku and Vegeta's training with Whis in the manga (and, I believe, the script) but was absent from the movie itself. It may only be a small moment, but the manga version looked awesome and it's a nice 'transition' moment between SSG and the later-revealed SSGSS, and also a nice throwback to the Ōzaru punch at the end of the King Piccolo arc.

The original line itself was awkward. He pretty much says something similar.SansrivaaL wrote:Thats funny because on BoG Goku Sean Ver said ''I will not let you destroy MY world'' instead of ''Dont take pleasure in destruction'' which is very heroic from my perspective.NeoKING wrote:How people are still expecting Funimation to have Goku say scripted lines from 1999 after various interactions over the years, plus the efforts put forth by DBZKai and BoG's amazing dub is beyond me. I bought tickets to watch the movie in 3D. I'll share my thoughts here after I've seen the film. I've stayed away from spoilers and film clips so I'm going in blind.

you're my hero, I can't do it that's for sure. (No will power) Hope you enjoy it though.

From the clip alone, the dub will be outstanding.
I brought my tickets for the 11th. After I see the film, I'll also give my thoughts on the movie. I hear so many of this:
"It sucks!"
"It's pretty good."
"It's great!"
I'm really anxious to see it for myself.
