when was this?
Besides the pic I posted, anyone has ideas in what formation should U7 use for the ToP?
Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza should be the front lines. Gohan will be right behind them giving others orders and making sure none of the weaker people getting attacked. Piccolo will have Gohan's back. 17/18 will be a tag team that targets people. The humans will be the support using their special moves and tactics to try and help.

It was so brief and short lived that it really doesn't count in the 'Earth is always in danger column'. You could say that Cell was a threat to the universe after he become Super Perfect, but that's a moot point since he died on Earth. The same basically happened to Merged Zamasu.
Beyond wrote:The ToP will probably be kinda trash. A battle royal in a giant ring sounds dumb as hell. It should have been a conventional toruny or hungers games style. What we'll get is some one piece level chaos. At least that's what I expect from this. I just hope my boys (Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo) get some good fights. I mean Gohan almost certainly will. Krillin will get something. I don't know if it'll be a fight. Piccolo just lucky he's not getting the buu treatment.
As someone who loves One Piece, AWESOME!

We had enough conventional tournament and Hungry Games would be interesting, but doesn't fit the martial arts theme of Dragon Ball. And I can never take anyone seriously when they used the term 'my boys'.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

That was just so Goku and the other young characters got up to adulthood. The same thing they later did with the other main character Gohan. It's not so important for Goten or Trunks because they aren't that important.

There's not so much of a need for it now. They chose this time period in the first place because the characters were starting to become too old.

The audience doesn't need to grow up with the cast anymore because they're all older than the fan base by a decade or more.
The new audience may want to grow up with Goten and Trunks. And Goku and Vegeta look the same after the time skip. Really much doesn't change. Though I agree a time skip after the 10 year time skip would be too much, unless it's for one final episode kind of thing.

Trunks and Goten are not on screen enough for the audience to care about growing with them. They're not like Gohan.

However adult Trunks is always more popular than kid Trunks, so if they age him he's essentially similar to Future Trunks again who is popular. Same reason EOZ Trunks just felt like a clone of his future self even though his personality should have been a bit different. Same reason Trunks was a main character in GT.

Future Trunks is more popular than Kid Trunks. Even then, by how much is questionable since they rammed together in character polls. EOZ Trunks is far from a clone of Future Trunks. He's far more laid-back, more out going, and likes dating. So I don't know where you got " Trunks just felt like a clone of his future self".

"The Strong Women of Each Universe are worth of keeping your eyes on", I know he meant the overall female fighters that will be in the ToP.

Your formation works

17 and 18 taking care of the flanks, Gohan and Piccolo in the rear, between them you have the humans, spamming their signature techniques.

Well if they watched Kai and then Super, then they might of seen enough of them to want to see them while they are older. Also as I said, after the 10 year gap nobody really changes too much. Also they can introduce Uub, who will bring a lot of different options to the table. I could see him being trained to be the next god of destruction if Beerus needs a replacement. The reincarnation of Buu taught by Goku (who by that time would be a pretty powerful god) would be a perfect god of destruction candidate.

He said it after Brianne's transformation scene.

Frost's body is basically a recolor of Golden Frieza so the resemblance isn't too surprising.

I'm so happy they're showing Kale's training and transformation soon. I thought for sure they'd save that to be a big bombshell during the tournament.

But do not you also believe that all these intermittent episodes, now over twenty, are a bit out of the question? Do I say it is not normal an anime where the main sagas last up to nineteen episodes and this simple series of intermittent episodes lasts over twenty episodes? Do not I think it is possible that the main sages, at the time of Z ninety episodes, have a dream, do they last less than intermittent episodes? Maybe the tournament will last like a dozen episodes ...

I just have a feeling I don't think freeza is going accept the invite, someone might.. I really have a hard time to believe if it going be Yamcha tbh... since we don't have a leak for ep 94 95 96 etc yet... so just wait.

Is it weird that this Freeza thing still doesn't feel real to me? Like, I still half way expect this show to be pulling a fast one and Buu wakes up or Yamcha ends up joining instead.

Maybe I just need to see him in an episode before it registers in my head.

Well, they still leave some room for doubt. Goku chooses him, but how will he respond? But it may be just to make the episode more intersting.

I think Boo is out, I don't think they would have said that he would be sleeping for specificly two months if he was going to wake up. Yamcha, we have the guy expecting the call in the anime and the ilustration made by Toyo. Freeza, we have those sumaries and his official ilustration with the US poster pose.

I give 5% to Boo, 10% to Yamcha and 85% to Freeza.
