I honestly don't get why people get so upset about their favorite characters losing fan-made battles.
I mean it's not like Death Battle is all that accurate anyway. Last time, even Superman fans who agreed he would win said the reasoning and arguments they used in the video were bad.
I get it, Death battle are Vegeta Fanboys, they are making everyone who tanned his hide suffer.
Majin Buu, and Goku.
It all makes sense. Vegeta is the only DBZ character who won his death battle (without the reasoning that if they used Shadow's comic self, his Hyper form should be freaking Superman level as far as I know)
There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.
They handled that very well. I completely agreed with what they said. I love how they made it seem that it wouldn't be right for Goku to beat Superman. Goku represents someone who wants to fight the best while Superman represents the best. Literally nothing can beat Superman... Not even Goku... and I'm totally cool with that. Because if Goku were to beat Superman then he just wouldn't be the Goku we know. It's the same reason why Goku didn't beat Beerus. Goku represents the fighter... Not the winner.
Let's keep it that way because he's so much more of an interesting character.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
Shouldn't they have mentioned that Beerus has destroyed suns?
Either way, I was surprised they mentioned that Goku being a "Superman clone" was largely due to the dub's fault. Also surprised they portrayed Goku as selfishly as they did, I liked that, he was an asshole this time around. Battle was much better in terms of animation than the last, though I kinda doubt that Superman could just walk through that Kamehameha like it was nothing when he was having trouble handling SSG Goku's Kamehameha a while back in the fight lol.

Woulda liked to hear how they calculated or handled SSGSS (They did their own calcs for Goku anyways so I'd be interested to see how they did it now), but they didn't mention a thing. However they mentioned why this is an even more massive stomp. I'm disappointed they didn't say anything about how they'd rate Goku like they did last time.
I'm more disappointed in the fight being kinda dull. Funny enough it's felt like the representation of an angry Superman putting down the child Goku. Maybe a nod to the fan backlash? Kinda felt like that.

I guess you just ignored the last part about Goku being a boring character if he was as strong as Superman.
Just because I ignored someone's opinion on how Goku would be a boring character if he was as strong as Superman doesnt mean he would be a boring character. You do realize that he will still win!? because hes the main hero and protagonist in the story, DBZ isnt something serious like Game of Thrones where you see villains winning all the time. If Goku was omnipotent i would be more than happy to see him kicking everyones ass including supermans haha

They went ahead and replicated some of Burst Limit's and Xenoverse's cutscenes too, it really made it better.
They used a less powerful Superman in this match-up, didn't they? Then why did he have less trouble against a stronger Goku? It looks like they really slacked off in the battle, even if it looks great, it should have been much longer though.

But Goku always wins in the end!!! DBZ is all about the heroes winning it doesn't matter if Goku is weaker, he is the underdog of the show he always finds ways to surpass someone since the old school Dragon Ball.
