Still my favourite film from the franchise. Best art style, neat and original story with some kickass martial arts fights. So awesome. A bonus is that this is the only film, no, THE ONLY ANIMATED STORY of Dragonball that looks like it's opening (Cha La Head Cha La). The rest of the series looks nothing like its opening (regarding just the DBZ portion since Makafushigi Adventure has a different style and the animated episodes and movies prior to Z look the same as the opening).
I dunno man, I can say the same for Movie 2. I absolutely adore Movie 2's tone, look, music, art style etc. Dr Wheelo's robotic design and Kikuchi's compositions all scream cheesy old sci-fi movie and it works absolutely brilliantly. Hell, even the plot of the film as well.
Also, how can you not love that "Everybody Laughs" ending? It's a trope like that which fits Dragon Ball to a tee.

Movie 2 is my second go to DBZ movie, so you are not wrong. I enjoy it for the same reasons just Dead Zone slightly more (it helps that Dead Zone was the first DBZ owned video I ever had
I am biased because of that!)
The laugh ending.... no comment man... no comment
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

I'm sorry for the quality, but here is one of Guru that I liked the look of so pieced together:
It's from the Ultimate Tenkaichi cutscenes.

Have I found a lost brother or something? Love that movie.

Forget Krillin, Goku's coming way too close to Dan Green territory for my taste!
Those comparison videos looked squished for some reason. I know about the double-ratio framing of the movies, so I can't say why.

Just like

Their original source ratio was 16:9 but since I'm a cheap bastard, I use WMM for my videos and by default, it squished a lot of content into 4:3 by default unless changed, original aspect ratio or not.
Although, this does kinda have the unintentional result of making it slightly harder for content ID to track it as well I guess.

I'm looking for a specific shot, does anyone think they can help me out? I'm trying to stitch a few frames together to re-create the episode preview for Episode 31, as it looks in the Dragonbook.
This is what I have...
I'm not sure if anything can be done to make it look better. This was my second time ever opening GIMP.
If it's easier to just stitch them together yourself, I have a couple of the frames saved
If anyone wants to take a crack at it, it'd really help me out - but only if it's Dragon Box quality. Thanks!

And now let's compare this:
and this:
To think that they had several months to tweak that picture and yet they left it so horrible...

Thanks kei17! That's just perfect. Is that from the Japanese Dragon Box? Yours looks way less compressed compared to what I have.
And hopefully none of the other Dragonbook thumbnails are pans so I don't have to bother you guys again

I can tell just from the colors that it's Kai.

To be honest. It's actually more believable that Gohan was 11 looking at the new size they gave him. Too bad the drawing itself sucks...

Everytime I see those pans I keep thinking of Tanooki Kuribo's vine where he played one of those pans and put "Don't You Forget About Me" over it. It's still really funny.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.
