So Apparently the Boys and Girls Club I Work At Made a Dub

Its old and from 2003-2007 and ofcourse, it sucks, yet apparently they said the kids who used to watch it there (and kids who still attend it) were crazy about that dub. The dialouge and everything of it was terrible. It Had the Japanese OST, they renamed a lot of attacks, gave it names worse than the Toonzai version (Galick Suprise is absolutely worse than Galick Blast) and the VAs were just terrible. Since I'm making edits for them for DBZKai (thank god they're not dubbing it and I'm editing the uncut material) I was looking through old files there on the computer and found a whole stash of these episodes. They even dubbed the original Dragon Ball and GT. I was getting files from their computer, I found these on the computer hidden (okay not hidden but was found in a folder named "ArchivedDB") I took a few episodes home.

My only problem with it was the audio and the fact this seems WORSE than your average fandub (I count people like LordCrehavos' videos average fandubs) the voices are TRYING to sound like a hero type character for Goku and Mr. Mitchell (guy who voices Vegeta, I want to get permission to list their full names before I put it out on the internet) is trying to hard to sound like Vegeta's other VAs.

Well one of the editors there that worked on the dub admitted it was horrible, but he never said anything. What's done is done now.

They thought the FUNimation dub was "To violent" and instead of just doing something else or buy some DVDs of other shows to play they were "dedicated to making a kid friendly dub" of Dragon Ball.

To defend the FUNi dub, it didn't have Goku say "That was mean!" when Krillin went to his happy place.

Really as much as FUNi's Z dub does deserve most of it's hate it's not as bad as DiC's Sailor Moon dub with its 6 skipped episodes 2 episodes merged into 1, and changing a lot of the story. at least FUNi's DBZ dub still gets the gist of the original story. You can't say that about the DiC dub of Sailor Moon or to make thing more on-topic FUNi's dub is way better than the Big Green, Malaysian and Portuguese dubs.

He really doesn't like the Funimation dub for some odd reason. And the Dic Sailor Moon dub was also hampered by the whole 65 eps thing and where they wanted episode 65, among other things and their handling of the last eps of R was the best of the dub.

But since people seem to be bothered by this post, I feel compelled to say that I personally remember Adamant once being shocked by a FUNimation dub clip on Youtube. He thought it was a fan parody at first. So I don't think he's trying to be jerk so much as just add another perspective.

But yeah, that's pretty skewed from the original topic, so we should probably leave it at that.
