I had the same problem after being away from it for a long while there. Even after letting Skype do the like two different updates I hadn't gotten around to doing, the mass of like tens of thousands of new messages battered the hell out of me a few times, causing not only Skype to freeze and crash, but my internet itself somehow. So...yeah. That was fun.

Seems to have finally stabilized itself now though, so I'm glad to be back, phew.

I advice everyone who was previously on the Skype chat to migrate to Discord, for once Discord won't kill your PC so those with slower machines or people with Skype problems will be good on Discord. The other thing is that we can organize everything much better thanks to the various text and voice channels so now hopefully we won't have a million conversations happening at the same time.
