pretty impressive, also the gap between the 2nd and 7th standing (1.2) is smaller than the gap between 7th and 8th (2.1), which is very good indicator for DBS, albeit being 7th

Toei Original Episodes have been hella fun so this is not surprising at all. With all the promotion the new arc is getting I think it can beat the Black arc premiere but being OP lead in I think makes it impossible to over take that but we can come close!
That's a strong rating. Super is always in the top 10, despite the fact it is a lead in show to One Piece.
Nothing can touch OP in terms of Shonen Anime, but Super does well to keep up with it.

OP is doing really bad, this week ep was epic though
Christmas day.
doesnt make sense an episode featuring the Admirals to decrease in the ratings.
DBS kinda did the same rating as they did on Last Years Christmas week.
Christmas isn't really that big of a holiday in Japan. I mean, it's celebrated, but nowhere near to the extent it is in the West. Good ratings still, for all things considered.
Spoiler:
Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Episode 71 did the trick and hyped the fanbase for 72.
73 is more kid friendly so I assume it will be fine.
I am more sceptical about the more mature episodes since kids in Japan don't really care for battles as much as they care for cheap gags

I would like to know from where did you get this?
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

Weekly ratings.
Gag episode rate way higher than battle episodes.

The ratings usually come out on a Wednesday so there should be something. I have no idea what day the US ratings will come in but apparently Beerus is gonna update us with that.
