Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
This is a thread like, things as a fan you haven't done and such that you totally should have done already. For me, I've never watched the Original Dragon Ball TV series. I've read the entire manga, but I've never watched Dragon Ball. The reason for this, is that, when they announced the Blue Bricks, I was going to hold off and wait for the Dragon Box release for the series, since they were doing that for Z directly after the Z Season Sets. But, I might have to give up and buy the Blue Bricks and watch Dragon Ball that way, which isn't terrible. Anyone have anything they haven't done that you feel you should have done already?

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
The only ones that pop in my mind are that I prefer Chris Sabat, Meredith McCoy, Brad Jackson & Stephanie Nadolny as Jheese, 18, Oolong & Kid Goku/Cell Games Gohan.

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
I've only watched the Dragon Ball Z anime back in the early 2000's when it was still on TV here in Brazil. So it was dubbed (Brazilian Portuguese, of course). I also never watched more than 5 episodes of Dragon Ball GT, and they were also dubbed. The version of the anime which I watched the most was the original Dragon Ball, and that was years later, when I was already a fan of DBZ. I watched the entire thing in both the Brazilian dub and the original version. However, I did skip every single filler episode
But yeah, I'm not well versed in the anime adaptation of the events of the Saiyan Arc and beyond, and even less in the filler material of the entire series.
Oh, and I've never watched any of the movies (except for BoG and FnF). Shame on me, I guess

I haven't watched most of the anime in a long time, but I did read the manga over and over again.
That is where most of my knowledge from the series come from.

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
I still have yet to watch any of the pre-Z movies, and I haven't watched Evolution yet.
I only own 2 of the movies. I don't own all of Kai. I lack any releases with the old Ocean dub or the broadcast FUNimation dub (with the Faulconer score), both of which I feel compelled to own despite being primarily a sub fan now, for nostalgia, historical records, and science.
Still missing a few Vizbigs.
I also feel that my collection is in great need of some more wallscrolls/posters and figurines.
Also, I don't think I have a single favorite character. I feel kind of left out being around so many people who have a #1 favorite.

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
I only came became a fan around early 2001. Most fans at the time where fans of the series long before that. The only DB related thing in my DVD and Blu-Ray collection right now is Battle of Gods on Blu-Ray. I sold my old single DVD's a long time ago when the Orange Bricks where announced and I end up selling my season sets after Season 3. I give up hope for the season sets on being good at the time. I bought the first DBZ box when it came out and end up selling it a year later for some cash. I wish I would have hold on it longer.

I haven't bought any merchandise (manga, DVD/blu-rays) yet besides some of the videogames. I'm a terrible fan, but money isn't something easily accessible to me, especially not when the merchandise isn't even available without shipping it from abroad :/

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
The two big things are that I haven't seen all of Kai and that I don't have a complete set of the manga...it pains me that I don't have a complete set.
Really one of those comes down to being rather poor but the other is just kinda...a lack of interest in Kai at this point.
I also think I could get some more merch really...I don't have any DBZ Figuarts or wallscrolls. Anything like that really...

Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

I haven't seen DB Movies 2 and 3, nor have I seen Z Movies 7 through 11. I feel on the Z front, I am not missing out, but I'll get to it eventually.

Between all those Z movies, you're only missing out on Movie 9, as that's honestly the only good one from 7 through 11.B wrote:I haven't seen DB Movies 2 and 3, nor have I seen Z Movies 7 through 11. I feel on the Z front, I am not missing out, but I'll get to it eventually.

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
Never seen Path to Power dubbed. I saw it subbed once on a bootleg VHS tape back in 2002. I still never seen all of Kai since I didn't really bother with it that much when it was brand new.

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
Let's see...
- I've never watched DB nor any of its movies. I am learning about it through Mistare Fusion's reviews.
- I've never watched the Z/Kai anime in full from beginning to end. I've seen it in bits and pieces and I have seen the whole anime but never in order. I've read the Z manga end to end twice, though.
- I've never watched anything but Super and Yo! Goku and Friends Return in Japanese. It's not that I don't like the Japanese cast nor do I dislike the language (I have a bachelor's in the subject), I just don't see the point in rewatching something in Japanese when I already know what happens.
- I haven't watched GT yet I love SSJ4. I know, it's weird.
- I haven't played a ton of DBZ games. I played the french DBZ games on the SNES through an emulator and I did finish Xenoverse, but those were the only ones I've played.
- I've watched DBZ Abridged more than I've watched the actual series.

I stick around only because Kanzenshuu has the best parties. I've got little actual interest in the series at this point.

I haven't seen all anime episodes.
Oh, yes and I think GT is too an extent better than Z. And I hope Super opens the eyes of some fans how flawed Dragon Ball is and not just GT.

I've only seen a couple of the old movies, and it's been years since I've watched them. Yeah, I really need to watch them all...
EDIT: I haven't watched the last arc of GT.

Re: Dragon Ball Fan Confessions
-I wish Modern Dragon Ball was more like the 2008 OVA.
-I (still) like the anime more than the manga.
-Never read the manga in it's entirety... mostly just key moments.
-I think Super is a waste of time and money. I only watch it cuz it's Dragon Ball.
-I want Vegeta to have a senien spin-off/side-story/whatever about his past.
-I'm slightly resentful towards Toriyama-sensei for what he did to Chi-Chi and (somewhat lesser extent) Yamcha.
-I don't like Adult Goku (Boo Saga and following at least).

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
