I already knew it was a joke from the start, but how did people learn about AF? Was it a made-up trailer, manga or anime?

Re: DragonBall AF: The Prank (Revealed)
The original AF was a Doujin and a replacement to GT. But, of course, as always happens with these things, people found some of it, read some of it, and then told friends about it, and everything spiraled out of control from there. For instance, there's no such thing as SSJ5 in AF. That silver haired SSJ form? That's AF's SSJ4. But somewhere along the way most people dropped the 'GT replacement' bit from what AF was (just like they dropped the Doujin bit).bjnelson19705 wrote:I already knew it was a joke from the start, but how did people learn about AF? <Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Read the comments of some of those vids. Some people really believe AF is real. It's sad.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:I think they already knew that AF is a fake, so they only made them for fun.Saimaroimaru wrote:The sad part is all those youtube idiots that still believe in it. Sad really.

Re: DragonBall AF: The Prank (Revealed)
The videos were removed form Youtube. Is there any chance of getting them back up?
Re: DragonBall AF: The Prank (Revealed)
Or any chance of a 2010-Remake of the commercial using DragonBox footage?

Funimation should have responded with "Well yes, it is in Area 51 where only his royal highness E.T. is allowed to watch it. Now begone you peasant!"DemonRin wrote:LMAO, someone asked This on FUNimation's Twitter recently.
FUNimation Responded with:Why doesn't FUNimation realease DragonBall AF? where is it? in Area 51 or sumthing?
It's funny to know that this thing is STILL floating around there. There is no such thing as Dragon Ball AF. Urban/anime myth.

So, where is this commercial anyway?Deus ex Machina wrote:I loved this prank, expertly done too. You're going to have one hell of a time trying to top this next year though.
Even leaving the date aside (April 1st) I noticed a few little things that gave it away. For one, the pint ad using an old and very well known 'AF' picture.
Second being the commercial. Make no mistake, it was excellent, and that's what gave it away. It had DVD quality for something that was supposedly taped off the television (and who the heck tapes commercials?).

Re: DragonBall AF: The Prank (Revealed)
Prank or not a prank, the AF fanon manga was actually pretty good. Too bad it ended abruptly right in the middle of what could have been a fairly decent plotline. Had it been continued (and given it were not shut down) it would have been quite entertaining.
Re: DragonBall AF: The Prank (Revealed)
You mean Toyble`s manga? Its still ongoing. The author just takes a very long time before releasing new pages. I think AF is real but just unofficial.

Re: DragonBall AF: The Prank (Revealed)
Am I the only person who thinks "SSJ5" looks better than the "SSJ4" we got in GT? I liked the basic concept of both, mixing Oozaru with the base-Saiyan form, but I definitely liked the fact that AF's version looked like a genuinely upgraded version of the third form. And I thought it was neat that "SSJ5" had silver hair and a silver aura, which is a reversal of the usual association of gold with being 'superior' to silver (a gold medal for first place and a silver for second, for instance). If only it weren't a joke...Xyex wrote:For instance, there's no such thing as SSJ5 in AF. That silver haired SSJ form? That's AF's SSJ4.
