I'm certainly intrigued to see how far Gohan has come since he started training with Piccolo after the events of Resurrection F. If it leads to training with Whis and attaining Super Saiyan Blue, I'm all for it. I'd also enjoy seeing Piccolo getting amply stronger.

I'm not a man of great demands.

Manga gohan isn't shown training..
Even this arc mentions how Gohan's soft body needs to be retrained and goku talks about him getting his fighting sense back..
You don't say that to someone who trained regularly and is fit..

Well, during the Zen Exhibition Match, Gohan was eager to show his dad how strong he's gotten. Not to mention that as far as Super is concerned, there is no such thing as filler. Any and everything that has happened is acknowledged in some capacity. Not to mention that they showed Piccolo and Gohan training together in one of the ending credits sequences, so Toei themselves acknowledge it at the very least.

The evidence seems to point to Gohan having indeed done training with Piccolo, but this training still not being enough. Piccolo is gonna whip this boy back into shape, even if he has to beat the Ultimate into him himself!
