For the american dub only? A very small chance. If I'm not mistaken, he and Funimation have went their separate ways a long time ago.Young-Jah wrote:Will Bruce Faulconer ever return to compose the score for DBS as of now in this year 2019 or 2020.

No, doubt he'll return to the series at this point
Geekdom101 made a video about Bruce Faulconer and his ties with Funimation a while back. Should be able to get a better answer from it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlLI02pvQIU

Bruce Falcouner most likely won’t return to Funimation.
On a slightly unrelated note, I would love to see Kikuchi compose again.

Wait, so the whole reason why Faulconer won't return is because most of his scores were never credited by him, but by Scott Morgan.NewKakarot wrote:No, doubt he'll return to the series at this point

Reason he won't come back is due to most of his songs were by Scott Morgan and not him.

If you put your cell phone on vibrate and throw it in the washing machine, you can recreate his scoremost of his music score is amazing.
Re: Bruce Faulconer returning to compose the score for DBS?
I recall a different reason
They parted ways for reasons I can’t remember but it wasn’t due to it being from Scott Morgan.

Re: Bruce Faulconer returning to compose the score for DBS?
He's probably talking about how the background music never stops, which is especially annoying in scenes that are trying to build tension. It just ruins the whole scene.Young-Jah wrote:How, he's not a bad guy.
Re: Bruce Faulconer returning to compose the score for DBS?
What does him being a good or bad guy have to do with the placement and style of his music?
I am fine with his soundtracks but it is way too loud and takes away from moments that are originally silent in the original Japanese version. It is good on its own but it doesn’t pace well with the anime for me, but perhaps it does for the dub which it was intended for.

I agree, the original score is just way betterBroly深蓝 wrote:It is good on its own but it doesn’t pace well with the anime for me, but perhaps it does for the dub which it was intended for.
Re: Bruce Faulconer returning to compose the score for DBS?
As I’ve said before I like a couple of his tracks; namely Ginyu Transforms , Super Saiyan 3 and Super Buu. The score as a whole is annoying and montonous at best, ear bleeding and painful at worst. The Faulconer fanbase overzealous blind obsession with the music and the man makes me dislike it even more.Broly深蓝 wrote:What does him being a good or bad guy have to do with the placement and style of his music?

I disagree about working on its own. It almost works as incidental background music. Stripped from the show and most of it sucks.

Like I said, couldn't he just tone the music down.NewKakarot wrote:I agree, the original score is just way betterBroly深蓝 wrote:It is good on its own but it doesn’t pace well with the anime for me, but perhaps it does for the dub which it was intended for.

Re: Bruce Faulconer returning to compose the score for DBS?
With the exception of Menza I would say all the dub replacement scores are better than Faulconer as well. Johnson, Wasserman, even the recycled Megaman music from the Westwood dub.NewKakarot wrote:I agree, the original score is just way betterBroly深蓝 wrote:It is good on its own but it doesn’t pace well with the anime for me, but perhaps it does for the dub which it was intended for.
Re: Bruce Faulconer returning to compose the score for DBS?
I should have said certain tracks work well on their own, like the ones you mentioned. Many of them do sound like repetitive filler on the other hand.
