Original broadcast audio varieties?

Post by DB1984 » Wed Jun 14, 2023 6:13 pm

Looking through some episodes with original broadcast audio, I noticed some are labeled "Fuji TV", others are "Ishikawa", and others are "Tokai". What's up with that? Are there varieties in said audio?

I belive they are just noting where the better source came from. Tho I think there is one (or a few) episode(s) that had some dialogue changes when they were re-released

Dialogue changes in re-released episodes? Which ones? Never heard of this before.

Typically each TV station will apply their own level of low-pass filtering to the audio stream either before or during transmission to television, from what I understand Tokai audio has the most low pass filtering, Ishikawa has less low-pass filtering compared to Tokai and Fuji has the least amount of low-pass filtering compared to either (basically taking the preservation of Japanese OBA to the max by archiving the OBA for each station individually).

I assume eledoremassis02 is referring to some of the NEP's which were indeed changed for later airings and re-releases.

During the series' original run sometimes episodes would be airing around the time of or during Toei film festivals and the NEP's for episodes during these times would be about 15 seconds of actual NEP and the rest being promotions for the aforementioned film festivals like sweepstakes etc..., when it came time to re-broadcast and re-release the series these NEP's would no longer be applicable as the events and contests they were promoting had long since passed, as a result these episodes have NEP's that are now full length NEP's more in-line with the rest of the series.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

superrayman3, I'm assuming the Fuji recordings are the closest to the Tokyo Tower. Right?

In this video from AnimeAjay, at 7:53, he says that "the Japanese side went totally quiet". What's he talking about? That someone has every recording from close by the Tokyo Tower, but won't share? Hence, the Tokai and Ishikawa recordings for some episodes instead?

Episode 269 of Z has a different line of dialogue between the original broadcast and subsequent re-airings and releases, as this thread explains: viewtopic.php?p=1609527

You can read it this way :
"Thoses who own(s) these recordings don't say more, or don't want to say more about them"
